2021 Fall Home Tour

Take our 2021 fall home tour and see how we have decorated our house for the fall season.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. Fall is one of my favorite seasons to decorate for. It’s just so easy to add in all the beautiful elements of fall. The colors, the textures and all of the lovely natural options make it such a fun season to decorate for.

Today, I’m joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life on her fall home tour. She’s gathered several bloggers together and we’re all opening up our homes for you to tour! If you’re visiting me from Shand at Quarters One, welcome! I love her relaxed cottage beach style!

2021 Fall Home Tour

When it came time to start decorating this year, I turned to my favorite decorating items: clipped tree branches. I found a few branches where the leaves were just starting to turn and it set the tone for our home. There’s just nothing quite like the fresh cut tree branches. They create a stunning display wherever they are and it’s easy to add in coordinating items like: pillow covers, throw blankets, artwork, candles and pumpkins to really make it feel like fall.

Let’s start the tour, shall we?

Our Entry Way

In our entry way this year, I wanted to do a large vase of tree branches to anchor all of the other elements…

They create the perfect focal point for our entry, which really does set the tone for the rest of our home…

Many, many years ago I also made these log tea light candle holders and they continue to be one of my favorite decorating elements, especially during the fall season…

Our Kitchen

We’re celebrating the fact that our kitchen is basically finished and we’re ready to do a reveal post with all the information. That’s coming up, but for fall, I really just wanted to add a lovely bouquet of fall leaves in one of my white ceramic pitchers.

In my opinion, simplicity is best and it really allows you to still focus on all of the beautiful elements of our kitchen that shine on their own.

I love this little peek into our kitchen…

This little area is my favorite grouping in the kitchen. I just recently treated myself to this large, handmade colander and combined with a vase of tree clippings, I couldn’t love this more…

When I say that I’m obsessed with this beautiful colander, I mean it. I look forward to having it in our kitchen for many, many years!

And of course, the vase of branches just finishes everything off in the best way…

We also can’t forget my copper jam pan. It looks amazing for any season, but the copper really adds a warm element that’s perfect for fall…

We love our kitchen…

Our Downstairs Living Room

Now that we have a finished downstairs living room, I wanted to share this space with you! I already shared our fall mantel, but there is still more to see!

I can’t wait to give you all the details on how we gave this room a makeover, but until then, I hope you enjoy seeing even more of this space!

When I was putting this room together, I wanted to have lots of cozy throw blankets and pillows. They just add such a warm element to the room…

I also had fun decorated the shelving on either side of the fireplace. A few days ago I shared my favorite digital prints for fall and I used several of them on our shelves…

I also love to use books and bowls…

I wanted to keep both sides somewhat symmetrical, so I used several of the same elements…

If I’m honest, this space has quickly turned into one of our favorite rooms in the house…

  1. It’s amazing to see all the progress you’ve made on your home in such a short time. Love your downstairs family room. It looks so warm and inviting and that fireplace and bookshelves are a beautiful focal point for the room. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season, your home is always filled with tons of decorating ideas.

  2. Shayna — LOVE your sophisticated, yet simple and clean style. Can you plese share where you purchased the oval tray in your kitchen and the one located on your basement shelves?

    1. Thank you so much, Julie! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour! I’ve had those wicker trays for several years and I haven’t been able to find a similar available option. I’m sorry that’s not more helpful! I will continue to keep my eye out and update sources if I find something!

  3. Your home is really lovely Shayna! That kitchen is to die for especially with the copper jam pot! And the built-ins in the living room have such interesting pieces. Where did the trio set of bowls come from? I would also love to know if you did the fireplace surround. We have a stone fireplace with a floating mantel but I really want to add trim around the fireplace box.

    1. Thank you so much, Kathy! I’m so glad you enjoyed the tour! I actually made the trio of bowls. I’m planning on sharing my tutorial soon! Yes, we also built the fireplace surround too. I’ll be sharing that tutorial soon too! 🙂
