DIY Fall Wreath
One of my favorite things about our front porch, is the wreath on our front door. I’m always a little bit picky when it comes to wreaths, so I made my own after buying all my supplies from Hobby Lobby. It’s not only easy to make, but it’s a great project to make with friends!
Last week I shared our fall front porch. It’s honestly one of my favorite ways I’ve ever decorated our front porch, and there have been plenty of different ways… trust me! One of my favorite elements of the porch, is my DIY fall wreath. It was so easy to make, I just picked out my supplies from Hobby Lobby, then put it together just like my spring wreath. You can find the tutorial here, and I promise, I made it the exact same way.
For this wreath though, I actually hosted a wreath making party with some of my best girlfriends. We each bought our own wreath supplies, then came together for a girls craft night to make them. These girls completely warm my heart, and I thought it would be fun to share the variations in our wreaths. We all knew we were making wreaths, and it’s so fun to see what we each came up with.
My wreath was definitely the biggest, and I am such a huge believer in a big wreath for the front door. Anthony often squawks because the flowers sometimes get caught in the door, but if that’s the worth that happens…. The bigger the wreath, the more the impact, and the better statement it makes for your front door. I used a 24″ wreath form, then added all the flowers, picks, foliage, etc., which easily added 4″-6″ around the wreath. It’s big, but soooo beautiful!
And just like I say alllll the time, texture is where it’s at. This wreath has so many different types of texture. From the berries, to the faux wheat picks, to the feathers, each different elements has a different texture. When they’re all combined together, the magic happens. I like my wreaths to have different dimensions, rather than being one dimensional. This wreath is the perfect example of that.
It’s made such a big impact on our front porch…
And my neutral loving heart totally swoons for the subtle colors of fall…
And the size of it? Well, it’s perfect for the door…
But what I love most about it? Those awesome girls who gathered with me to make it…
I loved the variations in our wreaths, and we all thought it was funny to see how different we each thought to make our wreaths…
Brittany (who is our online shop girlie!), added a bow, letter, cotton, feathers, and fall leaves to create this beauty!
Chelsea created this luscious full wreath that combines leaves, pumpkins, berry stems and real pinecones from her yard! It’s sooo lovely!
And Jessica created this one sided wreath that features the best colors of fall. She mixed in some leaves, flowers, pinecones, berries and grass. So pretty!
We’re already making plans for our next girls craft night, and we’re going to be making signs. 🙂 I always say that “home” is more than the pretty pictures you see here on the blog. It’s about the warmth, the hospitality, and the welcoming spirit it gives to those special visitors who come over.
Perhaps this will inspire you to open up your home for your own craft party? It’s just a suggestion… 🙂
That’s so pretty! Keep up the good work Shayna. Love your blog!

It’s very pretty. I love how full and colorful it is.
I love your wreath!!! I always love a big wreath in the front door…especially love the wheat stems and grapevine pumpkins!! Just curious where you got your wreath hanger? It’s so unique and looks really substantial. I am really enjoying your blog and looking forward to the opening of your store 🙂
Thank you so much, Michelle! I believe the hanger is from Target. I’ve had it for some time. 🙂
I love your fall wreath and am so enjoying your blog…..just found it a couple of months ago!
