2013 Project Goals Update

At the beginning of the year, I made a list of all the projects I wanted to compete this year. A few days ago I was thinking about that list and wanted to check in and see how we’re doing.

Here’s where we’re at…

1. Finish the Breakfast Nook

Here’s the deal. We are so close to having this room done. I’m not really sure why I haven’t finished it yet. I guess I got busy working on other projects and lost my motivation for the room. That, and I really like how it looks. I’ve had a few new decor ideas for the space, so I’m getting ready to bring a few of them to life.

2. The Laundry Room

This is one room that has come a loong way… it was bad. I was embarrassed of it. It’s not even the same room anymore… thank goodness!

3. Install Kitchen Backsplash

I’m just going to come out and say it… We’ve made zero progress with the backsplash. Much to my dismay. I thought we almost had it started. I even pulled everything off the countertops… but then we didn’t have enough supplies and the hubby and I didn’t want to drive an hour round trip to our local hardware store to buy them. I have BIG hopes of finishing this in the coming months… we bought the supplies months ago!

4. Install Planks Around the Island

We still haven’t done this either… I still want to, and I think it would look really awesome, but it hasn’t been at the top of our priority list.

5. Install Board & Batten In the Master Bedroom & Powder Bathroom

Again, we haven’t installed board & batten in the master bedroom… or at all. On the other hand, the powder bathroom has received some planking and I am so excited with how that room is shaping up! Love it!

6. Master Bathroom Paint & Curtains

I haven’t touched a single thing in our bathroom… I’m not proud of that.

7. Built In Bookshelves in the Dining Room

We haven’t completed this yet… but it will be a fall/ winter project. I told you about it here, and I can’t wait to bring it to life… along with our new dining room table!

8. DIY Outside Window Boxes & Shutters

I am so bummed that we haven’t done this either… but I am so happy that we switched our attention to our garden shed… It needed the TLC a whole lot more!

9. More Landscaping

We’re still working on this… since we built our home last year, we’ve started with a blank slate. I have planted a few more plants, moved a ton of river rock for borders and am waiting on planting several boxwood shrubs, which are currently sitting in our walkway waiting for a spare second. This weekend looks promising.

10. Organization, Organization, Organization

I’ve been working on this too. Several of our closets look a ton better… but there are still those few that are completely embarrassing to have guests open. All I need is a rainy day…

Overall, I’m completely thrilled with how much we’ve accomplished so far this year. There are so many projects that we’ve done that aren’t listed here. And those projects have been just as special too!

It all takes time… and I’m okay with that!
