TGI-Friday: Three Months With Our Girl

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a TGI-Friday, but they’re still one of my favorite posts to write. They always give a more personal look into our lives and I enjoy sharing fun things I’ve ran across and what we’ve been busy working on. And boy have we been busy!

I blinked, and our sweet girl is already three months old! How is that even possible? It’s true what everyone says… the time is fleeting! We’ve been soaking up every second with her, but my heart still hurts knowing time continues to go way too fast.

As far as babies go, we couldn’t have asked for a happier girl. Ania loves to smile and her happiness shines. She loves to talk and coo and she makes new sounds every single day. Once she figures out a new sound, she practices it constantly, mastering it and adding it into her vocabulary. There’s honestly nothing better than listening to her jabber and coo and carry on. I’m really not kidding when I say she is incredibly happy. Her smile is contagious and she melts our hearts.

I think we’re also seeing bits of her personality shine through too. She’s such a relaxed, chill girl. She goes with the flow, always happy to go wherever we want. She loves looking at new things and seeing her family. There’s no shortage of love for our girl, that’s for sure!

Ania is also a fabulous sleeper… at just a few weeks old, she was already sleeping through the night. She typically nurses around 9:00 or 9:30 pm, falls asleep and wakes up around 7:00 am. As soon as she wakes up, she’s smiling and cooing. She also loves to eat… and our girl can eat! She’s still exclusively on breastmilk and I cherish those moments with her. When she’s nursing, she’ll often take a short break to stop and look up and smile at me. I fall more and more in love with her every day.

We’ve known from the beginning though, that the only time our girl gets screaming mad, is when she’s hungry. She can go from smiling and talking, to screaming in ten seconds flat. Luckily, as soon as she starts eating, all is better. She also loves to eat from her bottle as well, which gives daddy that special bonding time too.

She can officially roll over and she loves her tummy time. She wants so badly to be a big girl, so we’ve been having her sit in her bumbo chair too. We have to hold her head a little bit, but she does fabulous and loves the challenge. She really wants to be a big girl.

As far as momma goes, I’ve been filling out her baby book and loving every second. My mom and I have been reading through my baby book, and I love hearing her memories and what she wrote down. I want Ania to have that too, so I’ve been trying to write down anything that catches Todd or I, adding it to her book so one day she can read all about this special time in her life. We’re using the Childhood History journal from Promptly Journals and so far I am loving it! She’s changing and learning so much right now, and there’s a place for all of it! I look forward to sharing this precious keepsake with her one day.

Daddy is also in love with his girl… and she definitely loves him. They already have their own special bond and I love watching them play with each other and seeing her light up when daddy starts playing his kissing games. Oh how excited she gets and how she tells him all about it. Todd is wrapped around her little finger and I’m excited to see their relationship grow.

The first three months with our sweet girl have been such a special time and we have loved every minute of it! Our cup runs over! Here’s to the next three months… and all the fun moments they bring too!

  7. If my mother could see these photos she would tell you you gave birth to a pair of eyes… LOL! She used to say that about me. Your daughter is perfection. What a doll! From her eyes to her adorable nose and precious mouth. Too have all that and a wonderful personality is amazing. I’m so glad that you got such a beautiful child. Having great parents, she will grow up to a beautiful (inside and out) person.

  8. She is soooo Precious! You are very lucky that she sleeps through the night already. I had my boy in our bed and he didn’t sleep through the night until he was 10 months old. When he finally slept through the night he (my girl as well) were really early risers. My girl was a better sleeper though. I nursed both until they turned 2 years old, and it was harder for me to quit. Enjoy your time with her, time flies! Just wait…when you can’t ever imagine being able to love so deeply, it will get deeper…There is something truly amazing about raising children. It teaches us a different, more profound kind of love. Thank you for sharing her. Sending good energy your way.

    1. Thank you so much! I loved reading your comment! She is such a good girl. We’re very lucky that she’s sleeping through the night. We just transitioned her to her crib and it’s been a great thing for all of us… even if it was hard on my heart to move her out of her bassinet and our room! I’ve said it many times, but now that I have Ania I know how much my mother loves me. It’s powerful!
