Summer Home Tour

It’s a been a heavy few months and weeks, hasn’t it? Not only with everything going on in the world, but also on the home front. A few weeks ago, my grandpa passed away. Sadness has been heavy in my heart and I haven’t had the desire to share anything new here on the blog. I’m sorry for being quiet, but stepping away for a little bit was much needed.

Today though, I’m looking forward to sharing our summer home tour. A big thank you to Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for inviting me to join in and share our home. If you’re visiting from Heather at Southern State of Mind, welcome! She has a beautiful home with a stunning outdoor area!

Lately, we’ve really been trying to get as much done as possible before baby girl arrives in a few weeks, and while there’s still projects we would love to have finished, we’re both ready to meet this sweet little girl and bring her home.

These last few days, I’ve been moving things around the house, clipping fresh tree branches to bring inside and just nesting a little bit. It’s been both refreshing and energizing.

In our entry, I switched up the display on our console table. Fresh tree clippings are such an easy and affordable way to really bring in the season and I love the happy, fresh vibe they share…

Our living room is our favorite space to spend time in. I keep making tweaks and with every change we make, it feels more like us. Really, that can be said for our entire house…

This little corner is my favorite though. It’s cozy, comfortable and filled with such pretty scenery…

A few days ago, I also got the itch to hang up another plate wall. This time though, I used my collection of platters that were still boxed up in the garage…

It’s the perfect little display, leading right into our small dining room…

We’re still loving our new dining room table and the way this space is coming together. I even got around to hanging up some new art from our travels to Hawaii….

We’ve also been making good progress in our kitchen, and I owe you several updates… soon!

The biggest addition as of late, is our new backsplash. We just had it installed and we’re now one step closer to finishing our kitchen…

This kitchen has been a labor of love, being done in baby steps as we continue to budget for each new addition, and make the time for the other projects that still need completed…

There’s still several things left to do, but with each step, we get closer and closer to my overall vision for this space coming together…

Such is the life when you’re living in a fixer upper and budgeting for each project to be finished! 🙂
