2020 Spring Home Tour

Who else has been so excited, and ever so patiently waiting, for Spring to arrive? Maybe it’s because I spent so much of the winter months sick and isolated to the couch, but I’ve been so ready for the warmer weather, the green grass, birds chirping and the coming days of planting flowers! I also love sharing our spring home tour. It’s refreshing to air out the house, give everything a good cleaning and add in fresh elements that really make the house feel ready for the spring season.

Today for our spring home tour, I’m joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life and the beautiful tour she’s created. She planned a whole week of amazing spring home tours. You can tour them all below, but if you’re joining me from White Arrows Home, welcome! Kristin has such a gorgeous style and I love seeing her log home all decorated for spring!

Let’s start the tour, shall we?

We’re still remodeling several areas in our home, but it’s been so fun to see things come together. We’ve been making so much progress and it feels amazing to see all the different rooms come to life… even if they’re not quite done, or what I envision overall. We’re still celebrating our home and all the progress we’ve made!

Our Living Room

Our living room is the first main space you walk into when entering our home. My style is definitely on the neutral side of things, but I do enjoy adding fresh pops of color and greenery throughout the space…

I always enjoy switching out the display on our bookshelves, but I normally keep the staple items I love and add to them…

Believe it or not, but I actually don’t have that many decor items. When we moved into this house, we had a huge garage sale and I really paired down on my items to start fresh and gather new pieces that felt more curated for this house. I’ve been slowly collecting items, and that’s half the fun of creating a home you love.

I recently found this terra cotta pot at Hobby Lobby and I’m in love with the size, shape and texture. Here’s a similar one!

I also switched out the pillows in the living room, and just adding a new blend of patterns has really freshened things up.

Our coffee table has a happy dose of spring with these faux tulips. Can you believe they’re fake? I’m officially in love with them and how real they look and feel…

Our Dining Room

Our dining room has undergone a few changes as well and I’m just getting started. One of my goals this year is to get this space pulled together. I swapped out the chairs we originally had with the table for these metal chairs I bought several years ago (and used on our patio last summer) and this space is already feeling so much better!

You may also notice that we’ve been doing some work to our kitchen cabinets. I’ll be sharing all the details coming up, but we recently painted our dining room cabinet and added some new trim work to really make it pop. Mission accomplished. This corner is looking much more finished…

Our Kitchen

Next month we’re starting on the last few projects our kitchen has been waiting on and I am so excited! We’ve been working on the build plans for our vent hood and I can’t wait to see how it transforms the kitchen! Right now it’s still an empty shell, but I can see what it will look like finished, and it only makes me that much more excited to start working on those last remaining projects.

Our Entry

The last space on our main level, is our entry way. A few months ago we bought a new console table and light, and I can’t tell you how much it transformed the area. I’m still working on collecting a few new items for the space. It still needs tweaking, but all those things take time.

If there’s one thing I want to encourage you today, it’s that even if your home isn’t where you want it to be right this second, that doesn’t mean you won’t get there with consistent hard work and patience. Home isn’t built in a day, and it takes patience and time to get where we want to be in the long run. The joy comes from celebrating the every day progress and all the fun that happens in the meantime! Keep that chin up!

There’s even more spring home tours to enjoy! Up next on the tour, is Andrea from Life On Cedar Lane. You’re in for a real treat. She has a beautiful home and I can’t decide if I love her kitchen or living room more!

You can also view all the other homes on the tour below! I know what I’ll be doing this weekend… taking virtual tours of all these amazing homes and planning my next project! 🙂
