What We’ve Been Up To

Holy cow… it feels like I blinked and we’re well into February. It’s hard to believe the last time I posted was right before Christmas, but that’s how it’s gone these past few months. Because I haven’t posted in a little while, I thought I’d share what we’ve been up to and catch you up before we dive head first into new projects! And boy, do we have new projects lined up for the year…

Honestly, the main reason I haven’t been very active here on the blog or social media, is because I spent nearly the entire month of December, and the first few weeks of January, sick with two terrible colds that I got back to back. It wasn’t very fun, but we made it through and I’m so happy to have the energy to get off the couch again. Inspiration is starting to strike and I’m ready to start working on the house… but thank goodness for Downton Abby. I watched the entire series again, and the new movie. Total side note, but this time around I started noticing all the details of the Crawley home. It’s gorgeous, and I gathered so much inspiration.

After healing up, we headed on a family vacation to Disney World. My parents took us all as part of our Christmas gift and we had so much fun exploring Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The first day we walked 17 miles, which was quite the journey. If you’ve been to Disney World, or Disney Land, you know what I mean. There’s so much walking involved. After being so sick, I thought it might wear me out, but it felt refreshing to be outside enjoying the fresh air and moving around again.

We had a blast spending time with family, taking in all the fun rides, enjoying the Disney experience, and eating yummy food. I was about eight years old the last time we went to Disney World, so not only was the experience different, but it was fun seeing several of the same things I’d experienced, and remembered, as a child. We loved exploring Epcot, and found the best caramel popcorn in Germany. I would have brought home that entire store if it would have fit in my suitcase. Not only was the popcorn delicious, but so were the caramels. Mmmm…

Todd has also been knee deep in remodeling his storefront/ office. I’ve been trying to help as much as possible with design work, organizing and anything else that’s come up. With his busy season getting ready to start, we wanted to make sure he had a functioning office again where he and his employees are ready to tackle their clientele. We’re so close to having things put back together, which is such a great feeling!

On the house front, Todd and I have also been busy talking over, prioritizing and writing down an in depth list of all the house projects we’d like to complete this year. We may be a little over ambitious, but there’s so many things we’d like to scratch off the list this year. I’ll be sharing the full list with you soon, and the first project we’re taking on… needless to say, we can’t wait to have this one done!

Now that I’m on the mend, and hopefully immune to any other colds (fingers crossed), I’m excited to start sharing our house projects again! I think we can definitely say it’s going to be an exciting year around here! Stay tuned for lots more!

Looking forward to your 2020 projects too! Will we get a peek at Todd’s office space? (curious minds want to see!! ha ha)

I don’t think you’ve ever shared what Todd does for a living when he’s not fixing up the house. What type of business does he have? 🙂
Looking forward to your new posts!

    1. Thank you! Todd and his brother own a supply company that sells materials used for pipeline construction, mainly for agricultural irrigation. 🙂
