Our Sweetest Gift

We’ve been keeping a secret… a really big secret.

Throughout these last several months, since November really, I’ve been under the weather… and all for good reason. We have our sweetest gift, a precious baby girl, who will be joining our family in July!!

Todd and I are both so very excited, and we can’t wait to meet this sweet baby. We’ve both had our own unique story of arriving where we are today, but looking back now, all the timing makes perfect sense… after all, it’s never really in our time frame, is it?

All I know, is this moment was the best day of my life… and now it’s leading up to the birth of our most precious gift.

While this winter cold season has been particularly hard on me while being pregnant and going through the first trimester, now that we’re in the second trimester, I’m finally starting to feel more like myself, and working through the lasts of those terrible colds I’ve had.

We’ve also been working through our priority list of all the house projects we’d like to see completed before we bring our sweetheart home. And while the list is a little bit long, we’re both so motivated to have as much done as we can, all while still enjoying this fun stage together.

Now that we know baby is a girl, I’ve started working on the nursery design and all the plans we have for her room. This will be such a special space for me to pull together and I’m really looking forward to putting so much love into her room.

I can’t even explain how special all of this is to both Todd and I. Words don’t do it justice… we’ve both waited so long for this moment to be here…and our hearts are so full. Bringing her home is going to be such a wonderful blessing.

I’ll be sharing all about our journey as we prepare for her arrival, both in our hearts and in our home!

  7. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see her room! I live in Colorado as well and had two colds, one right after the other, in December and January after not having a cold for absolutely years! Must be a mutated virus! They were doozies! I coughed so much with the last one I had to clutch my ribcage to ease the pain. I feel for you having to contend with the symptoms along with first trimester ills. Looking forward to nursery updates!

    1. Thank you so much! We can’t wait to work on her nursery! And yes, the colds this year were terrible! I coughed so hard we were worried there for a little while. Rest was the only answer to getting over it. So thankful that’s behind me now! Hoping you are well.

  8. Congratulations to you and Todd! I am very happy for you. I’m sure you’ll create an amazing nursery for your little girl.

  9. Congratulations! Can’t wait to see what you do with the nursery. Don’t overdo yourself trying to get stuff done. Make sure you get enough rest. So happy for you both.

    1. Thank you so much! We can’t wait to meet her! I’m doing my best to get plenty of rest, and to take it easy. Hard to do when there’s so much to get done! 🙂

  10. Congratulations! And something to think about…those ‘colds’ you’ve had may be fungal ‘issues’….especially since I saw mold during your renovation pictures. Fungal/yeast ‘issues’ can be caused from things other than environmental mold (in our homes, offices, schools, etc), such as some foods (wheat, corn, and some others),, and symptoms can mimic colds, flu’s, etc. If you’d like more information I have a FB page called Think Fungus First. You are welcome to message me there. I don’t sell anything.

    1. We are so excited! 🙂 And thank you for the mold and fungal information. I know that can absolutely be true! In my case, my colds were something our area was experiencing. It seemed to passed around, hard as I tried not to get it. Luckily, I’m on the mend and feeling much, much better! 🙂

  11. OMG! congratulations! I am happy to know I was right about it, although you never responded to my message. Congratulations! I wish you all the best. Exciting!

    1. Thank you so much! We can’t wait to meet her… and we barely knew when you sent your message, so it felt a little too early to confirm anything yet. 🙂
