2019 Christmas Home Tour

It’s time to share our Christmas Home Tour! These past few weeks I’ve been nestled up on the couch battling a nasty cold and wishing it away so I could start decorating for Christmas and spreading the holiday cheer throughout our home. Inspiration wasn’t coming to me easily, but I’m finally on the mend and our house is ready for Christmas… even if I’m still doing some shopping and wrapping!

Today I’m so excited to be joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life and the amazing home tour she’s created with 30 other bloggers! If you’re joining me from Kristen at White Arrows Home, welcome, welcome! Her Wisconsin cabin is beyond lovely and so cozy during Christmas. I could curl up by her fireplace all day.

This year I kept our home pretty simple, focusing on adding in fresh greenery, real mini trees and lots of gold, silver and dark green. It’s a soothing combination, but still feels very much like Christmas.

Let’s start with our Christmas entry way. We recently added in the new console table, making this space function so much better. Add in a mini Christmas tree and a few strands of wood bead garland and mercury glass ornaments and this little area is welcoming and festive.

Just off the entry way, is our living room. Our Christmas tree is definitely the focal point for the room… you can see all the details on how it came together here

I changed a few things on our bookshelves, but left all the books. They’re such a great addition to the display, and these antique bells look wonderful with them…

It’s one of my favorite little nooks to look at…

And since our basement isn’t finished and the fireplace still needs a major makeover, I decided to use the bookshelf drawers as a place to hang and display our stockings. I bought these last year from Crate and Barrel and I love them. They’re bigger than your average stocking and the knitting is gorgeous.

I used dark green velvet as one of our main accents, and I love the cozy addition it adds…

Our coffee table feels festive too, with just a large wooden bowl full of ornaments. I love how they sparkle when the light hits them.

I also added another cute mini Christmas tree to the other side of our living room… they make me smile. I couldn’t find a big enough pot that worked well, so I used one of my cream mixing bowls. I love the combination.

And much like the rest of the house, our kitchen and dining area still aren’t finished. Fingers crossed we’ll check them off the list this coming spring, but until then, I only added a few Christmas touches…

I love the wreath in the window. It’s such a fun addition to the kitchen, and even though this space isn’t finished yet, just having these small touches adds a happy vibe to our space…

So that’s our tour this year… there’s still so many spaces to finish in our home, but even though we’re living in a fixer upper, our holiday cheer is alive and well. 🙂

Next up on the tour is Erica at Designing Vibes. Her home is beautiful and her Christmas tour doesn’t disappoint… even if she did do more minimal decorating this year. It’s very much worth the visit! You can also tour the rest of the homes below!

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! If the weather cooperates this weekend, I’m planning on decorating our front window box and I hope to share it with you next week!

  1. Your home is really coming together, it’s amazing what all you’ve accomplished so for in your renovation. Your living room looks so pretty and I adore your tree, those candle lights are wonderful. I agree with others, I think your kitchen is fabulous, love that pretty wreath at the window too. Can’t wait to see more as you continue with the renovations. Thanks so much for joining the tours, such a pretty home.

  2. Your house is simply stunning! I remember when you bought it and it wasn’t a problem believing it was the ugliest house on the block. But what a difference a year can make. Not only is it beautiful but with the Christmas decor it’s breathtaking. Kudos to both of you. I do have one question—where did you find that clock? Love it! Actually I love it all. Keep up the fantastic job. Your blog is definitely one of my favorites. Thank you! And Merry Christmas!
