The Simple Thanksgiving Table Sources
Yesterday I shared how I created the simple Thanksgiving table. I love a pretty table for the holidays, but am all about doing it with what I have on hand, and on a budget. Below, I’m sharing the sources for each and every item I used to create our table.
When I started decorating our table for Thanksgiving, I realized just how much I love to reuse items from our home. I love to give each and every item we own a multipurpose meaning. Sure, a wreath is know for hanging on a wall or door, but why not use it as a centerpiece? Same for the blanket I used as the table cloth. Decorating is about thinking outside of the box, and using what you have on hand in new, creative ways.
Now, I love new home décor just as much as the next person, but I only have so much space to store everything. I like to make sure every item I have can be used in different situations. If you don’t love what you have in your home, why are you keeping it?
For our table, I wanted to focus on the texture and colors of fall… in a neutral way. I’m sure I have mentioned this before, but loud and bright colors make me feel a little bit overwhelmed. 🙂

To start the table, I used the plaid blanket from Ikea. It’s such a pretty blanket, and the colors are perfect for fall. Then, I added the wood chargers I made a few years ago. Their size/shape/color/texture was the perfect compliment to the blanket, and the cotton wreath I would add next.
The cotton wreath is from our shop, you can find it here. The size was perfect for the center of the table. It’s not so small that it makes the table look squatty, but it’s not big enough that it takes up precious space from the table, especially once everyone sits down for the meal. For the inside of the wreath, I used one of my hurricane vases and filled it with shelled pecans and a cream candle.
I tend to use a variety of nuts this year. They bring in the perfect color, texture and warmth. Plus, you can reuse them every year. I just place them in a ziplock bag, and stick it in with the rest of our fall décor when they’re not in use.
The next addition to the table, was our dinner plates. I bough them from my Joss & Main Sale earlier this year, but these are the same dishes.
With them in place, I began adding the mugs. The copper mugs completely transformed the table, adding that extra spark of color and pop. Since I only have four, I used the matching white mugs from our dinnerware set. The two combine to make a lovely table.
After the mugs were in place, I began adding the napkins and silverware. I know everyone does this a bit differently, and I’m sure my great grandma would be scolding me for doing my this way, but this is simple. And us.
The last thing I added to the table, was the place card holders. I loved the simple design of these, and the way they matched my dishes. Plus, they’ll be perfect to use again as a name card for a specific dish or drink. Multipurpose, anyone? 🙂
To finish off the table, I added a small branch from a Russian Olive tree to every plate. They’re easily removed, and don’t leave behind any residue on the plate. Win, Win! Plus, they are gorgeous, and my newest obsession!
At each end chair of the table, I added a small element of comfort. This houndstooth pillow from our online shop is beyond warm and cozy, and adds that perfect touch of pattern. Plus, I love the way it transitions from fall into Christmas. Love, love, love.
On the other chair, I added the faux fur blanket I made last year. It’s that perfect touch of texture and warmth. And, it’s easily moved when it needs to be.
So, that’s how I created our Thanksgiving table. It’s neutral, but interesting, and full of texture. All of my favorite things! 🙂
