Framed Farm Sacks
These framed farm sacks are the perfect way to add unique character to your home! They’re not only perfect as artwork, but they hold a special meaning of the past. See how easy it is to frame them for wall art!
I can’t even tell you how long I have been on the hunt for old farm sacks. I absolutely adore them, but they’re not always the easiest thing to find. A while back, I went on a girls trip with a couple of my great friends, and as we were traveling, we decided to stop in a local antique store as we were walking by. It was one of the best decisions ever. After browsing through the store, I found myself in a booth with a bunch of farm sacks hanging on the back wall. I stood in that booth admiring them.
I was raised on large farm and ranch, and we now own one too, but they are very nostalgic for me. I have so many amazing memories from my childhood, and they spoke to me. I ended up buying 5 large sacks, and each one was very different from the other, but they did have one thing in common. They each represented a feed/ corn/ agriculture company. I knew I wanted to hang them on the wall, but it took me a little time to decide on the frame, and where I wanted to hang them. Once I had it all figured out, there was no stopping me!
Here’s how I framed them…
I ended up using the 19 3/4″ x 19 3/4″ Ribba Frame from Ikea. They were the perfect size for our wall, and they were customizable with the framed mat. With the frame flipped over, I laid the farm sack inside, making sure the decal/ print of the sack was centered within the mat of the frame…
I tipped the frame up to see if the image was straight, which it wasn’t…
I readjusted the sack as needed, then secured it into place with tape…
Then, I added in the depth adjustment that came with the frame….
I set it on top of the bag, which also made it stay in place, then added the backside of the frame and used the tabs to anchor it in place…
I repeated the same steps with each farm sack, always picking and adjusting which part of the image/decal I wanted to show. Some of the sacks had too much to fit in the frame, so I re-positioned them to display the areas I wanted…
It was such an easy project that has made a big statement in our living room…
The black frames are the perfect color. It gives the room balance, but also ties each sack together…
I also love the difference in the farm sack designs… They’re all very different, but still similar…
Now I’ve got to figure out what I’m going to do in the entry way. It’s quite the blank slate, and I honestly love that.
One step at a time though… It all will come together in due time. 🙂
Very cool , the farm sacks look great!
Have a great evening
Those look great! Did you find them in Colorado? If so what store? I would love to check it out if I am in the area! 😉
Thank you so much! Yes, I found them in Florence, Colorado. I don’t remember the name of the store, but it was on their main street, and was a pretty big antique store. I hope that helps! 🙂

Where did you find the grain sacks? I haven’t come across any like that in AB…but what a great idea. I would have the perfect spot for two frames for sure!! I love IKEA frames, they always seem to work for me too.
Thank you so much! The sacks are from a small antique store in Florence, CO. 🙂
