Spring Home Tour: Part One

Spring is definitely in the air in Colorado! We’ve been busy in the tractors prepping the fields for spring planting, and I’ve been spending time freshening up the yard and getting ready for my own planting! I thoroughly enjoy gardening, and I’m so excited to add more plants to our landscaping this year. It’s definitely on the list of must-do things! 🙂

And because I’ve been anxiously excited for spring, I couldn’t help but get the house ready too. I’m just hoping the wind doesn’t strike full force this year. As much as I love spring, it seems the wind likes to spread it’s love and I’m always caught off guard and end up chasing patio furniture across our fields. Fun times… fun times!

But, at least the house looks happy inside, and not a smidge wind blown! Welcome to our spring home tour!

Like I do with basically every new season, I start my decorating outside. It’s a cheap and pretty way to decorate. Thank goodness my Willow tree bloomed…

The bright, fresh green is so beautiful to see!

I’m also completely in love with the longer days full of sunshine. Don’t get me wrong, it always takes me a bit of time to adjust to Daylight Savings time, but I really love the extra daylight at the end of the day. It basically floods right through our breakfast nook and kitchen…

I decided a few months ago to take down our kitchen shelves, and instead I moved over the shelving from our living room. It may never leave this spot…

Not only is it the perfect place to store extra dishes, but I’m thinking it will be beautiful with big glass canisters. Be looking for that version soon! 😀

Our breakfast nook is honestly one of my favorite rooms in the entire house. It’s so full of bright light, I just want to curl up and sit on our cozy bench overlooking the view of our fields…

And can I just tell you how much I am loving the way our living room is coming together. It finally starting to look like I was imagining, even if we still have a ways to go until it’s finished. One step at a time…

I finally found the perfect bench for the end of our couch too. Not only does it have great storage, but it gives a place to set a small thing or two without being in the walkway…

The dining room is also ready for spring. I shared a peek of it earlier when I showed our spring mantel

  4. I’m trying to think spring, but we are having snow flurries here in Indiana. I love your home! Wish I had your open shelfs to display items, you have a lovely collection of dishes and collectables. Hope to be able to purchase some of the items in your home online. Happy Planting!!!!

  5. Shayna, you have the blue Currier and Ives dinnerware! My mom had that and I followed in her footsteps. I always take a swing through flea markets and antiques stores to try and find ‘new’ pieces. So far I have found berry bowls, a chop plate, platter and even a covered casserole. Love your home and your blog. Thank you so much for sharing.

    1. Thank you so much, Nancy! The clock is from Home Interiors. We’ve easily had it for 6 years though. I hope that helps! 🙂

  8. Could you please tell me where you got the hooks that are on the wall under the shelf…..or if they are vintage and I am out of luck. Let me know if you can. Thanks.

  9. Very nice start to Spring tour. I really like the baskets on top of your kitchen cabinets. I agree with you on your kitchen nook, it really looks inviting and cozy. I think I could spend a good bit of time there. Thanks for the tour.

  10. You know what I love the most about your home? The details. I absolutely adore that everything has a place. Not even just any place, but it all collaborates so well with each other. I have such a hard time not staring for hours 🙂
