DIY Wood Centerpiece
One of my absolute favorite things about our dining room from our Christmas home tour, is that DIY wood centerpiece…. and the rosemary!
And since today is $30 Thursday, I thought I’d share a little bit more about that fabulously smelling centerpiece!
If you’re new here, $30 Thursday is a monthly project that can be completed for $30 or less. April from House by Hoff, Jen from Migonis Home and I join forces to bring you easy ideas that you can complete on your own… on a budget!
I told Anthony that I wanted a wood centerpiece to put my rosemary trees inside and he definitely delivered! Literally…
That sweet hubby of mine brought me this lovely wood crate, all I had to do was finish it!
He made the crate just like our laundry room wood crates, so pop over there if you want the tutorial…. I was busy decorating and he surprised me with the crate. Oh how I love that man…
To finish it, I used my favorite go to stain, Early American by Minwax. I love that stuff!
Once the stain had dried, I used dark wax to go over the entire thing. The wax is such a fabulous way to finish the wood. It gives it such a subtle sheen and a soft texture.
All that was left to do, was add the rosemary!
There are so many different things you could add to the inside too!
Fresh greenery and pinecones would be beyond lovely…
Or add in a few ornaments…
And even once the Holiday season is over, this little crate can be used in so many ways! I think the office may be calling its name… but who knows!
I’m just happy to have such a versatile piece!
April and Jen have also been busy this month…
April created this lovely Ballard inspired Holiday chalkboard…
And Jen’s showing just how easy it is to spruce up your master bedroom for Christmas… for under $30!
If you’re not already, be sure to follow our $30 Thursday pinterest board. I spy several budget ideas!
And just in case you missed it, you can see our complete Christmas Home Tour here.
What a great idea and it looks amazing!
It goes so well in your dining room too… great idea!
