Antique Hutch

I tend to find my best pieces when I take the time to search antique/ flea markets. You truly never know what you’ll find and most of the time they’re original, one of a kind items. Sometimes, you may spend hours looking through things only to end up empty handed. But other times you may find a bunch of items you’re possible you can’t live without.

It’s those items that will haunt you forever if you don’t take the plunge and buy them. Trust me, I speak from experience. #it’snotfun #theyhauntmedaily

So when I stumbled across this antique hutch, I knew it was one of those items I would completely regret not buying. It’s original and timeless and absolutely full of beautiful character…

  1. I wasn’t about to be part of another hunt where you left something behind that you wanted and I told ya to go for. Glad you went with your gut and followed through. I’m a proud sis in law. 🙂 #hauntingofthechairleftbehind

  2. Congratulations on your Hoosier, I have seen one on line last year for sale in PA or Mn…Hard to find with wood tip out drawers. I wish I had stumbled across this.

  3. I have antiqued for years and have never come across a piece with curved drawers. It is stunning and in fabulous shape. It WOULD have haunted you if you passed it up. Congrats.:)

  4. It looks like it’s a Hoosier cabinet. Are the curved lower drawers lined with tin? My great-grandmother had one and stored flour in one of the bins. Hers had ribbed glass canisters for coffee, salt and herbs. It is beautiful and looks terrific filled with your ironstone. Great find!

  5. Shayna,
That is an old Hoosier cabinet. That curved area on the cabinet is where they kept the flour. What a great piece and it’s in beautiful condition.

  6. You’ve staged it awesome! This is almost like looking at a photo of my Hoosier. There are a few details that are different but they could be made in the same year and location. I’ve owned mine for 30 years and am now selling it to move on to my smaller retirement house. Anyone out there in the San Diego area interested?

  7. What a beautiful Hoosier cabinet. It looks great! I’m so glad you have left the original stain. So many people are covering up the gorgeous patina of antiques with chalk paint these days. You have a beautiful home!
