Decorating Our Mantel For Fall

I’ve been busy decorating our mantel for fall and I’m sharing all about it below!

After many, many years of not having a mantel to decorate for fall, I now have one. Just typing that sentence is exciting.

We’ve been working hard to get our downstairs living room finished, and the biggest project on the list has been giving our fireplace a makeover. I can’t wait to share our steps to reach this huge transformation, but today I get to show you a good look of how far we’ve come, and how much fun I had decorating it for fall!

I’m also excited to be joining Kristi from French Creek Farmhouse on her amazing Harvest Home Tour. She’s put together a wonderful group of 30 bloggers and we’re each sharing our fall decorating ideas to inspire you for the season!

Decorating Our Mantel For Fall

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to decorate for. I love all the natural elements there are to choose from and how easy it is to transform your home decor without needing to go overboard to make a difference.

Since we’re still just getting into the fall season, I focused more on textures, tree clippings, candles and other elements that make me want to curl up around the fireplace…

Of course, I had to use tree clippings to create a focal point on the fireplace mantel. It’s still my favorite way to make a huge impact when I’m decorating…

I also wanted to keep the mantel simple, so other than the fresh tree clippings, I just added in some candle sticks and a Thomas Kinkade painting my mom bought for me as a house warming gift for my first home. It’s the perfect fall artwork with the trees in the portrait turning colors as the season changes…

Of course, I had to fill a big basket with blankets! I love how much texture they add, but they’re also practical too. I can see us grabbing them on chilly evenings to curl up…

I also added several logs to the fireplace. It is a real working fireplace, but if we decide to light a real fire, I’ll get a screen first!

What a beautiful space this has turned out to be. I’m so thankful we finally have it finished for us to enjoy.

  1. Decorating the mantel is so much fun. I love how you’ve kept the fireplace, the focal point by putting simply lovely pieces together to draw you to it.
