Our Front Porch Flower Pots
I love adding beautiful flowers to our front porch. In these lovely pots, you’ll find lavender which is one of my very favorite plants! I love how welcoming they make our front porch feel! See more below!
Every spring, I get excited about potting plants and bringing new life to our exterior. I love the creative process of picking and choosing which plants to pair together, where I want them to go and how they’ll look once they’re big and overflowing from the pot. It’s rejuvenating for me and I’m always excited to get my hands in the dirt and watch the beautiful new blooms transform any space into a happy place.
Plants and flowers are magical like that.
Admittedly, I never know exactly what I’m looking for when it comes to what I want to put in all of my pots. I rely on my local plant nurseries to direct my creativity based on what they have and what I can find.
This year, I found the most beautiful lavender (Hidcote Blue) and knew it would look wonderful in the pots by our front door. It’s happy, fragrant and it brings such a wispy look to our front porch…

To go with it, I paired some Ivy vines, white trailing Petunias and another trailing vine, White Nancy Spotted Dead Nettle. They all combine to create a beautiful arrangement…
I made sure each pot had plenty of drainage holes too since all plants like well drained soil. And when the time comes, the lavender plants will be easy to transplant.
Our Front Window Box
Our front window box is also one of my favorite places to get creative with plants…
I like to compliment all of our other flower pots to create a certain color scheme. I use similar colors, plants and vines to create symmetry for the front of the house. Once the plants grow big, it all flows together so beautifully.
This year, I did plenty of purple, white, ivy, Spotted Dead Nettle, Sweet Potato Vines (both light green and dark purple) as well as bright pops of pink and white Geraniums. I can’t wait until the plants get big and they’re all spilling over the sides of our planters and our window box…
Our Garage Pots
I also potted the same combination in each of our three garage planters…
Last year I potted an Endless Summer Pink Hydrangea in the center of each pot and I can’t wait until they grow tall again. It’s such a beautiful centerpiece for these pots…
And as a side note, how far has our home come? It’s basically unrecognizable from where we started…
I hope you enjoyed seeing a peek of our plants. They bring such a happy note to my day and I look forward to my daily watering time where I get to step back and enjoy the simplicity and beauty they share.
