Christmas Table Setting In The Breakfast Nook

Today, I’m joining a group of blogging friends to bring you ideas on decorating your table for the holiday season. I’ll also be sharing another fun idea tomorrow too… so get ready to have all the table setting inspiration you’ll need this year!

I always love to set the table in the breakfast nook a little bit more laid back. The space itself is more casual with the bench seating, all the pillows and the smaller setting of the breakfast nook. It’s also one of my favorite rooms to decorate at Christmas because it doesn’t really need all that much to really shine during the season. It’s such a pretty room as it is, so I find I like it best when I just use fresh or faux greenery and keep things simple. And this years Christmas table setting is just that… simple, but still fun and festive, all while being incredibly easy to put together! Let’s take a peek, shall we?

I shared last Friday in my first TGI-Friday post that I had decided on the decorating theme for my Christmas tree, and I loved it so much, I decided to use it throughout the entire house this year. I’m talking lots of whites, blacks, and dark greens. It feels so natural and organic, and I love how the greenery pops with it. Typically I mix in plenty of fresh greens, but this year I decided to keep the house cleaner and just use faux…

I started the table by using some black and white window pane fabric as my table runner. It was just about the easiest thing ever to place on the table… I just folded it into the width I wanted, and laid it on the table. I didn’t sew the ends or anything. And you know what? You can’t even tell… not even a little bit. So my tip of the day? Visit your local fabric store, find a fabric you like, have it cut to the length of your table, and use it as your table runner! It’s a cheap, beautiful way to bring your table to the next level.

To keep with the natural vibe of the color scheme, I used these round woven placemats as chargers. They keep the table feeling casual, which I love, but they also look really good with the window pane fabric…

Besides the actual white dinnerware, napkins and utinsels, all the table was really missing was some candles mixed in with the greenery…

This is one of the shorter, more minimal centerpieces I’ve ever done, and I love the change of pace. It’s simple, fresh… and entirely easy!
