A Walk Around Our Property
Today I’m sharing the view from a walk around our property… I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
I went for a walk the other night, just as I do so often. The weather was perfect and the setting sun was casting a beautiful glow on everything it touched. I absolutely love this time of evening. Almost every day, I try to pause and take in those precious moments…
Since we have so many windows, and full glass doors in the house (which we did for this purpose!), it makes it easy to stop and stare at the beauty that surrounds us. We have put so much work into our property. It hasn’t always been the most exciting projects, but they have added up to create a lovely place we call home.
We absolutely love this place, and we’re lucky enough to call it our home. Right now, the corn is still vibrant green. It’s one of my favorite views…
Our pinto beans are still green as well, but as we creep into September, they are slowly starting to turn golden. Soon, we’ll be harvesting them.
And as much as I love fall for the harvest, I always really miss the summer season with the gorgeous color.
We also have some lovely neighbors at the far end of our property…
I honestly can’t imagine a better view. The cows, the mountains, and the lush draw. We are blessed to live here.
When I tend to get overwhelmed, or need a relaxing break, I take a walk. I’ve always been like that. And this place is so peaceful to me. I come back refreshed, renewed, and rejuvenated.

This summer has also provided another year to really focus on our front yard. We had dirt hauled in to create additional landscaping, I’ve bought trees, and more plants. We are slowly making progress, but I always enjoy seeing each and every step we make. This picture doesn’t include our new trees…
Once I get the rest of the plants planted, I’ll share more of the landscaping. Right now, it’s only half finished, but wow, it’s already made such a huge difference.
I hope you enjoyed the tour around our property. I know it’s a little bit different from what I typically share, but it’s such a huge part of me, and just as much as the inside is our home, so is the outside.
Have a fabulous weekend! 😀
Oh I love that. There is nothing better than a little wide open space to calm ones soul. We have 10 acres here in Michigan and we take a walk around our property every evening. Completely different that yours of course. Our little patch is mostly woods with abundant wildlife. But, just like yours, it’s our little patch and we love it. I can’t imagine waking up each day and seeing those beautiful mountains! Enjoy your weekend!
Loved this tour. That’s a beautiful world you live in, inside and out.
Such beauty you have surrounding you. We downsized from 104 acres to 26, but this acreage has a nice big beautiful two acre pond, and the view is for miles in most directions from our new house on the hill. Every day is a gift.
Your home and property is so beautiful ! We also live in the country and this year we have corn fields around us. I am always amazed when we have deer near our house, they are just so beautiful. Would love to see your property in the fall too! Thanks
Such a great idea! Beautiful property! It’s similar to ours, and I feel the same way as you when I walk around. Thanks so much for sharing!
Loved the tour! I also love your warm, wholesome appreciation for what you have created….Beautiful!
What a beautiful surroundings. I would love to live where you are.
Thanks for sharing
You do have a lovely view…we live on a farm with some great Iowa views…can’t get any better!
Thanks for sharing! Looks like a lovely place to live. I live in town in a small town, but love the country! You are so lucky.
Love the view of the mountains…just gorgeous! Here in PA. ours is more green and fir trees!

I am completely jealous! Not only do you live in Colorado, which has always been a dream of mine. But you also have beautiful land and a gorgeous house. PERFECT-O!!!
Your yard is absolutely beautiful. It looks like there aren’t many houses nearby so you must have very little light pollution making the stars at night amazing. I can only imagine how beautiful they must be as well.
It is a beautiful view! No wonder it helps you to relax. One question, though, how did you decide on what you wanted your outside landscape to be? We just bought a place and will need to start on the landscaping next spring. I have ideas of some of my favorite things, but I’m wondering how I would start? Would I just try mapping it out?
Hi just loved this post; your land is beautiful!! How many acres do you have?? Are you far from town?? Do you ever get lonely?? I love how you verbalize your love and appreciation for what you have! Far too often most of us just moan and groan about this and that and we are not thankful for all that we have around us. Take care! Sandee from Fairfax Va.
