Summer Home Tour

Oh sweet summer time. I’ve been anxiously awaiting it. I love the longer days, the warm nights, and watching our crops grow.

This year, I am so happy to be sharing our summer home tour with a few other ladies who all love summer just as much as I do.  I can’t wait to tour their homes and see how they’ve decorated. It’s always great to gather new inspiration and ideas.

Summer can often be hard to decorate for, but this year, I took the approach of clean, crisp and fresh greens. Such a beautiful, classic and home-y combination.

Let’s start the tour, shall we?

I kept our kitchen similar to the other seasons, just punches of fresh green sprigs, which come from a few of the trees around our property…

And I still loved our kitchen shelf, so I just swapped out the spring stems, for the summer berry version. So simple…

I also love slightly switching up the shelving unit in our kitchen. It’s the perfect place for extra dishes and serving pieces, so I am really loving the look and function…

Yes, I painted our doors black! I’m still getting used to it. It’s such a huge change from the light and bright white!

And in case you’re wondering, this corner is still a favorite…

Now for the dining room…

  1. You have a beautiful home & I love how you’ve decorated it. I just love all your white dishes. I have been looking for something like the white ones you have with the line indentations ( not sure how to describe them) & the pic you have with the 4 mugs on the table. Where do you get them? I’m looking for something neutral so I can mix & match with color. Thanks for any info. I love following your blog. Gives me great ideas on decorating & DIY projects.

  2. Absolutely love your home!!! I collect cutting boards & I drool over yours! Hope you’re going to have some round ones in your shop!!

  3. Absolutely love your home!!!! It is so beautiful and seems so homey and inviting!!
Would love to see your family room area. …keeps it real for us…lol .You have inspired me to bring some “cottage style” into my home.
    Thanks for sharing.

  4. Absolutely lovely, Shayna! I think the “new” black doors make the room look very sophisticated. And I love the open shelving.

  5. Your home is beautiful! It’s warm and inviting while having the crisp and clean feeling of a home without a lot of extra stuff. I absolutely love it. Your dining room is always my favorite with those rustic shelves:)

  6. Its very kind to show us your home! I’m still enjoying in my head your vision for that old furniture and turning it into a gorgeous patio set. I am so colorful in my decor I’d give you heart failure!!! Yet I love the neutrals and how you’ve put it altogether. Love the pantry (?) door looking like boards. The chalkboard’s size really makes a statement. Love the simplicity of the wire baskets above the kitchen cabinets. What a beautiful home you’ve created!

  7. I’m loving EVERYTHING about your home, Shayna! It looks so warm & inviting with your use of whites & rich tones together. Could you tell me where your window shades are from? It looks like you might have them on 1 or 2 of your windows? I’m thinking of using these as a more budget friendly alternative to plantation shutters, and really like the way you used them in your space.
    Thank you so much!

    1. Thank you so much, Kara! Our dining room is “Halo” by Benjamin Moore and the trim is “Super White” by Benjamin Moore! I hope that helps! 🙂

  8. Hi, could you tell me what boards (material) you used for your ship lap? I’m wondering if it’s just regular boards like pine that you stacked on top leaving a slight space in-between or if it is actually some sort of paneling that interlocks in the back?

  9. Hi! Lovely house! I absolutely love the floating shelf with the 3 hooks underneath. Do you remember where you found those hooks?
    Thank you!
