Bird House Makeover
I love hearing the birds chirp. It’s such a happy sound! And since we don’t have very big trees, I love it when they do decide to stop by and sing a tune for the house. That’s exactly why I was so excited to have a cute little bird house to give a makeover. I want them to feel welcome, and to sing away, so it was perfect timing. I love it when that happens.
Here’s what the house looked like before…
Not bad at all, but it needed a little makeover. Plus, easy projects like this add that perfect touch of character and are my very favorite. They’re the type of thing you notice in a full room. And walking up to the house with this little cutie hanging in the tree is perfection.
Here’s how I gave it the makeover…
I used the outdoor paint by Maison Blanche in Ivory and Wrought Iron.
First, I flipped it over and starting painting the body with the black paint…
Once the black paint was dry, I started painting the roof of the house…
And because the paint is made to withstand the outdoors, I didn’t need to add any type of protective coat. So fast, so simple, and so lovely!
It may just be me, but I’m pretty sure the birds are completely loving this little house…
Chirping & singing is at an all time high…
And that makes me very happy. I may or may not pull out my great grandma’s bird book to study up on our visitors. 😀
The good news is, we bought two new trees to plant this year. Watch out world. Birds on the loose! 😀

Happy Painting! 😀
P.S.- I received product and/or compensation for reviewing Maison Blanche Paint Company products. However, all opinions about their paint, finishing products and this lovely bird house are my own! For my full disclosure policy, click here.
What a cute little project! The birdies will love it 🙂
So cute. And what a smarty using the outdoor paint.
Who says Blondes are dumb?
(hehe)
So cute, Shayna! I love your little bird house! 🙂
It’s a sweet lil’ birdhouse. Well done! I do hope you make sure that it is hung in complete “shade” as the black paint will heat the inside very high and possibly cook the babies. Summers here in Michigan can reach temperatures of 100+ I don’t know if you have the same.
Thank you so much, Erika! I thought of that as well. It’s hung in a great place for shade. 🙂
I love birdhouses! We have lots of trees in this yard and boy do those birds SING!! I love having the window open and hearing them sing their lil hearts out! We are well into outdoor spring time projects and a few new birdhouses are on my list this year. Have a great day,,,,always enjoy your blog and hope you will stop by the country sometime 🙂
My mother loves birdhouses and hers are quite worn. I will use this cute tutorial to revamp hers! This is super easy to do! Thanks for the fun post!
