DIY Picture Frame Clock

Are you ready for a quick and easy project that looks great? This DIY Picture Frame Clock is the prefect project to add a bit of character and it’s so easy to customize!

I’m loving how it turned out…DIY Picture Frame Clock by The Wood Grain Cottage

To make it, I started with a 5″ x 7″ frame and a clock kit from the craft store…

After I removed the glass, I pulled off the picture frame backing and cut a piece of wood to fit the 5″ x 7″ opening of the frame…

Because the clock parts were made for a 3/4″ thick surface, that’s what we used…

We drilled a hole in the middle of the wood…

Then I cut a piece of scrap book paper to the size of the frame and notched a hole in the center…

I used a few pieces of tape to hold it in place, then started assembling the clock parts from the directions on the package…

Once all the parts were tight, I pushed the wood piece into the frame…

And because the wood piece is the same size as the frame opening, they are stuck together tight!

Then I just added the battery, and it was ready to go!

For now, I really like that it doesn’t have numbers to keep track of time…

But if I ever wanted to add numbers, I have the option. I can also change the paper or fabric when the mood strikes. It’s very versatile! And it looks great… those are my favorite types of projects!

 Have a happy day!

  1. I like this a lot! It’s not so big that you’d need a wide open space for it, and it’s not so small that people would need a magnifying glass to see it, AND you could put it anywhere you wanted!! Yep, I want to make one too!! You have the best ideas Shayna! Thanks for sharing them with all of us! 😀
