Living Room Reading Corner

I’ve always wanted a cozy spot to read. To me, that could be one of the simplest things in life. But also one of the best.

I love to escape in a good book, and sometimes that’s the only way I can rejuvenate myself after a long day or week. That’s why I’m so excited to share our living room reading corner. It’s still a work in progress, but the simplicity of it all is making my heart really happy. It’s a perfect place to curl up and read, or relax and watch the sunrise.

And no, I still haven’t put away my joy pillow, I just really love it. It’s got such a powerful message, plus it’s quite wonderful to look at.

The dried lavender also makes this spot one of the most refreshing… and calming!

I’ve had questions about the wingback chair. I found it at our Salvation Army and reupholstered it. It was my first time reupholstering that big of a project and it was definitely a labor of love… I’ll be sharing the tutorial a bit later.

The little side table is one of my favorite furniture makeovers of all time. The herringbone wood top basically makes me all gooey inside… And I’m not kidding about that.

And the swing arm lamp is another one of my DIY makeover projects. It’s come a long way too!

I found the plaid blanket at Ikea and I’m pretty much in love with how it pairs with the fabric on the chair…

This is basically one of the best places to sit down and sip blueberry hot tea too…

I’m so happy that this one little corner of our living room feels somewhat complete. We still have so much to do in there, but I can’t help to smile when I look over to my reading corner…

Simple things are pretty spectacular!
