Thanksgiving Table Setting

I know that Thanksgiving is a few weeks away for us US folks, but I couldn’t help and decorate our table!

And since it’s $30 Thursday, I decided to use the challenge to create something new for our table!

In case you’re new here, $30 Thursday is a monthly challenge where April from House By Hoff and Jen from Migonis Home test ourselves to create unique and easy ideas that can be made for $30 or less.

This month, we focused our attention on table settings!

Here’s what I came up with:

I brought out my grandma’s dinnerware…. and set it on top of our handmade wooden chargers, tutorial coming soon!

And remember those denim leaves that I shared a while back? Well, I decided to give them a simple use and I’m loving how they look with our silverware….

I love how they look with the plates…

And the simple ratan ball makes it all pop!

And of course, pinecones and wheat had to make an appearance…

I grabbed the huge cutting board at the thrift store…

And there had to be a touch of plaid…

I just love how it all works together…

  1. I love it! Love the simplicity and the way it makes you feel homey. Which is a perfect feeling for Thanksgiving 😀 Also noticed you set the silverware on your table backwards, and was just wondering if there was a reason for this? I love cutting boards too and recently started collecting them… just can’t seem to stop
Wishing you a juicy Turkey for your Thanksgiving and may the day be filled with much Love, Happiness and Laughter, with memories to last a life time!

    1. THANK YOU so very much, Amy! I love the way it “feels” too! 😀
And I totally didn’t have a reason for setting the silverware backwards… I was just so darn excited with the way the fork looked with the denim leaf! 😀
      HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU!!

      1. I came back to look at your table again and noticed the grapevine wreaths on the back of the chairs!!! I’m so in love with them I can’t stand it! I have to steal this idea and use it … just don’t know if I want to use it for Thanksgiving, (the whole family doesn’t come together for Turkey day) Or for Christmas when Everyone is here! I know all of my sisters are going to love them! and Yes, I will give you full credit!

  2. Shayna,
your tablescape for Thanksgiving looks fabulous. Loving the chargers and how you used the denim leaves to hold the utensils; and nothing is more classic than blue and white. I have some blue willow plate ware and I plan to use it on our table too.

  3. You are very creative! The chargers are versatile too as I looked at your Pinterest challenge page. They can be used as an anchor for wall art or simply as you made them!! I see now your tie in to the blue leaves. So neat! And your touch of plaid. I also like the unusual mirror above the buffet. You went to soooo much work to create this visual delight I just wanted you to know I appreciate all the effort you give to ideas, photos, your upbeat posts when we know life isn’t a bed of roses every day…the enthusiasm is a bright spot in this world. As a little girl my mom played and my two sisters and I sang Jesus bids us shine in a clear pure light, Like a little candle burning in the night; In this world of darkness we must shine, You in your small corner, and I in mine.
I’m not sure of your beliefs, but its like you , if you are a Christian, should realize you are doing just that! Shining light in your corner of the world…

    1. Amen to that, Gwen! Beautifully said! I, in mine, <3 to shine for Jesus!!! Love it & HIM…
Blessings & <3 to you in yours…corner that is!

    2. Oh. My. Goodness. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, Gwen! I had a permanent smile all day because of you! You’re so right, my everyday life isn’t a bed of roses, BUT I do try to stay positive and only share happiness at the WGC! This is my place to share my love of home… and I’m gonna let it shine! 😀
THANK YOU so much for your friendship… It’s valued more than you will ever know! 😀
From one Christian to another… BIG HUGS!
