Kitchen Drink Station
The hubby recently acquired a Keurig single cup brewer for his birthday. Originally, I wasn’t too excited about moving my Kitchen Aid mixer in order to make room for his new brew. But, after I saw how excited he was to use it everyday, I knew that I could move my mixer back and forth between uses. Even though it’s heavy.
That, my friends, is called love! 🙂
And since I was willing to make him feel extra special, why not take it to the next level and convert the empty space into a drink station?
Plus, we just happen to have the perfect place to pull it off.
I knew one of the first things our drink station would need was a mug tree. And, lucky for me, I found one for $1.50 at the thrift store.
I couldn’t wait to get it home and freshen it up with new paint!
Once the tree was painted, I was on the hunt for 6 white mugs. My only problem? I didn’t want to spend $5.00 per mug and I really wanted the mugs to match. After checking out all of our Dollar Stores and the thrift/ consignment stores, I kept striking out. My last stop was Walmart and, wouldn’t you know, I found 6 mugs for $1.86 a piece. Score!
To make his drink station a little sweeter (get it, sweeter… because there’s sugar… ha!) I added the thrift store tray I bought a while back, found a white sugar bowl (also from the thrift store), then found these darling little buckets in the dollar section at Target! They’re perfect to hold extra K cups, and I could even label them since they had a chalk board sticker on the front.
Now there’s no guessing where to find the coffee or tea. Gotta love that, right?
And, just for fun, let’s break down the cost of the our little drink station!
Keurig- Free, birthday gift
Mug Tree- $1.50
Mug Tree Paint- Free
6 White Mugs- $11.16
White Tray- $2.00
Sugar Dish- $1.00
2 Chalkboard Buckets- $2.00
Total: $17.66
Now there’s a deal to love! And one that makes our morning routine a little easier… and sweeter! (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) 🙂
I think I’ll go make a cup of hot tea now.
That is the perfect place for a drink station! Love the whole thing! 🙂
Thank you April! I thought it turned out lovely! 🙂
