Bedroom Reading Ladder

I don’t think it’s a secret that I periodically check out the thrift/ consignment stores. You never know what you will find since new items come in daily. On a whim, I decided to stop by one on my way home.

Not looking for anything specific, I browsed through the store and just happened to find a metal ladder. I was beyond excited! Not only was it cheap, $7.00, but it was also in amazing shape. I couldn’t wait to get it home!

I’m thinking that it was previously used as a ladder for bunk beds because it had a couple of hooks to attach it to something. I had Anthony cut them off at work, then I cleaned it up and gave it a fresh coat of white spray paint.

The hardest part was deciding where to put it. It’s so versatile!

I thought about putting it in the living room to hold extra blankets, but then I remembered my growing stack of magazines next to my side of the bed and, BINGO!

It now holds my nightly reads and I can even hang them on the page that I left off. How perfect is that?

It’s so handy! And I just love how it’s made that little corner all cozy.

If I ever tire of it, I can simply move it to a new home. How great would it be in an office to hang cups of pens, or in a playroom to hang art projects & supplies? The possibilities are endless. I could even see it used in a bathroom to hang towels or baskets.

For now though, I’m totally happy with the way it’s functioning!

Now, I just need to redo the little chair that I found for the desk. 🙂

  1. I love it, it totally finishes off the corner!
I’m a bit jealous of your hubby’s drink station! What a great setup…I use mine every day too but it’s just tucked into the corner, wishing I had the space to pretty it up a bit more!

  2. What a great buy on the ladder. It looks so good in your bedroom and could hang a number of items (spare blankets, small quilts, hats on a large S-hook, Shoes with a little rung alteration) but I love yours as it seems before sleep is the only time I can read. Thanks for sharing you bargain find and your Einstein moment. Karen

    1. THANK YOU so much, Karen! I love the multiple uses too… and it definitely gets me to read at night… all my favorites are front and center! 😀
