Entry Coat Tree

A while back (like August…) I found a lovely coat rack at one of the thrift stores.

I about passed out when I walked in and saw it sitting there. So, naturally, I stalked it for about five minutes, figured it would be safe to browse through the rest of the store, and headed off in search of other new items.

When I went back to the front of the store it was gone! What?! I hurriedly searched around while mentally telling myself that I was a big dummy for not packing it around with me.

I was just about to give up when I walked around the last corner and there it sat! The staging lady had moved it to a less noticeable area. I hugged her thanked her for protecting my new favorite thing. But then she said, “We’re actually going to discount this item because it’s a little wobbly.”

I quickly checked it out, saw no major problems that a little tightening wouldn’t fix, and told her I’d take it. She told me to name a price. $5.00 later, I was the proud owner of a very brassy coat tree. What a lucky day for me! I give thanks to the wobbles! Thank you Mr. Wobbles!

This is the part where a very bad blogger (points finger at self) didn’t take pictures… I didn’t get a picture of the before stage. I know. I know. It’s not nearly as impact-full.

(I just slapped my hand for you.)

Just image a sold brass coat tree. There you have it.

I simply tightened the loose screws and brought out the oil rubbed bronze spray paint.

Two coats later, that coat tree had a totally different look.

To the entry way it went.

I can proudly say it wobbles no more. Done just in time for Christmas, that coat tree held the weight of MANY jackets and purses!

I love the way it looks and the way that it “defined” the entry way a little bit more.

Love the curvy legs too!

We continually put this coat tree to the test. Imagine ten hats (the hubby likes variety), six coats (again variety), 2 sweatshirts, 1 purse, numerous scarves and many random items later, this coat tree holds its own!

And just becuase I like you, I took the majority of the items off the coat tree so that you could actually see it. 🙂

Lucky!

Now I’m off to put everything back…

    1. Thank you! I couldn’t believe I got it for $5.00. I almost thought our entry was too small, but it fits wonderfully! 🙂
