Our Farm: Week 14
Yes, it has been 6 weeks since our last farm pictures. Wow, time has flown!
It’s easy to say that we’re on the down hill slide of things for the year. It won’t be long until the beans start turning yellow and drying out. Combining season is right around the corner!
We’re still irrigating the corn, but it’s only got a watering or two before it’s done. Just like the beans, it will start to dry out and turn a golden color. At least it sticks around for awhile. It makes everything feel very fall-ish.
The stalks are loaded with corn!
The corn has tasseled, which sends the silk down to the plant, which produces the corn. Very scientific. Really.
You can slightly see that the beans are starting to turn yellow in some areas. It’s only a matter of time before the entire field is yellow. Fall is in the air!
So, you can’t see the house from the bottom of our field… I had to stand on my tip toes and raise the camera all the way above my head to get a shot of the house in the background.
I also had the cutest helper following me around. 🙂
He likes to stray off course. He’s a rebel.
More updates later… fall brings big changes!
