The Making of Something Beautiful!
It’s amazing to see something change so quickly. For some, change can be hard, but when it’s as exciting as this, it’s hard to not be ecstatic as the building progresses. In fact, I’d like it to change quicker. 🙂
In just a few short weeks (ha, it’s definitely felt longer) we have went from this:
To this:
I. Know. Right? Pretty sweet, eh? We’ve been knee deep in making all sort of decisions. Like stucco, rock, roof and soffit color. Hopefully, when everything is finished the front will look like this: (Colors Only)

We’re lovin’ the black rock with the cream stucco. So pretty!
But for now, we’re still here and waiting on the roof:
Because we all like them, here’s a before and after of the back of the house.
Before:
And After:
Aren’t those windows & doors great? They turned out exactly how I was hoping! And that patio, wow. I’m totally swooning. I can’t wait for spring and summer! I see flowers, grass and landscaping in it’s future. Sweetness!
I know you are begging to see an interior shot of those doors. Quit it. I hear you.
Yep. Beautiful.I KNOW!
Soon, that will hopefully look like this:

Pretty, huh? We’ve already found the perfect sectional, it’s just not this one. The hefty price tag could have something to do with it!
So, can you see it? Pattern rug, sectional couch, coffee table, end table? Oh wait, sheet rock and paint could be helpful. Yes, we’ll need that too. Add it to the list.
Well, what do you think? We can’t wait to have it DONE! Shocker, huh?
Shayna, How did you decide on a builder? We might be getting some land at some point and I have no clue how to go about building a house on it. Any tips would be appreciated. I’ve done a bit of research and it seems like it is going to be EXPENSIVE to build our own house. We built a house in a cookie cutter neighborhood once and chose our floorplan based off 10 they offered. Including the land we paid about $160 for that house, so surely it doesn’t cost $400k to build a home on your own lot.
thanks!
I just e-mailed you a hugely long answer on facebook. It wouldn’t fit here. I guess I might have to write a blog post on the subject, seems I have a lot to say. 🙂 Thanks for the questions!
