Summer Table Setting
With summer officially here, and those summer parties in full swing, today I wanted to share our summer table setting as part of the styled and set blog tour hosted by the lovely Lory of Designthusiasm! Each season we’ve joined together to bring you simple entertaining ideas, and for this tablescape, I’ve done just what I always do… keep it simple!
If you’re joining me from Becky Cunningham, welcome! I’m so happy to have you!
And now, let’s take a peek at my table. I always like to start with a focal point, or a center idea, and this time, it was the beautiful grass that seems to be growing along the edge of every ditch in our small town. I was able to cut off a few bundles from our ditch bank, and I love the simple texture and classic vibe it adds to the table. It basically set the stage for everything else.
I love a nice, casual vibe and this table feels just that…
The grass set the tone, and I was happy to find these natural woven placemats in my stash, which tie in perfectly…
The glass mason jar mugs also create a relaxed feel, and they’re practical for my family as they’re the most used glasses in the house…
I also used my favorite cloth napkins. They tie in perfectly with the chairs and patterned pillows on the bench…
Candles always add that easy touch too, and they felt just about perfect with the grass centerpiece…
I love how they play with the different colors in the grass, but still stand on their own…
Table settings that look great, but don’t take an entire day to assemble are my jam. Pretty doesn’t have to be hard, or expensive, and this table is proof of that…
I didn’t spend a dime on anything other than the lemon, but that doesn’t really count because I use them daily in my water. 🙂
And just because it’s pretty, here’s a few more pictures…
So… if you’re hosting a party this summer, remember to head outdoors and use nature as your décor foundation! It won’t let you down…

Your table is gorgeous along with everything else!! I see that it is a DIY project; would you be willing to share your plans? I’d love to make one for my home.
I love your table (and your eating area!) it’s just perfect for summer. Using the grass? Totally inspired. Thanks, Shayna, it’s joy to be on these Style+Set tours with you! Happy Summer!
Shayna, you are definitely the master at doing neutral natural tables! I really love the tone the grass gatherings set and the rest of the lovely setting follows right along. So pretty!
That grassy touch on the decor was perfect for a summer vibe… I really liked it, it’s a great idea and I bet everyone would love it!
