Great minds think alike, I made the same pillows even mixing the stripes and the checks last year. They are so cute.

  2. Becky says:

They look great. I’ve done similar ones with placemats, napkins and vintage linens for just a few dollars each. Not a big investment and easy to make another set when you want to change the look.

  3. Jeri says:

Love the idea of flipping them ! Going shopping for sewing tape( never heard of it) that’s how DIY I am. Pillows are so expensive and these would look great in any room or on my porch swings. You have the greatest ideas!

  4. Elsie says:

Lovely bit of summer ! Thanks for the idea! A person can never have too many pillows!

  5. Too cute Shayna, i have made pillows out of placemats before because (truth be told, i can’t get my bobbin into my sewing machine ! ) the placemat is usually made of a much thicker material and a little easier to sew by hand, ( since I’m a novice at sewing machines, lol ) but i haven’t tried to use tea towels “yet”. These are so cute ( Ikea, huh? ), perfect for the home or outdoors ( = Thanks and have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. Sincerely, Diena

Pretty darn cute… and love the life philosophy- stressed? Sew some pillows, “pillows make everything else in the day so much better.” Words to de-stress by!

  7. LOVE these easy peasy farmhouse pillows! I’ll have to try these!

Love these, Shayna! And, I have those same towels from IKEA … hmmmm … you’ve got my wheels spinning and are tempting me to blow the dust off of my super cool Martha Stewart sewing machine and use it for the very first time to attempt to make these! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

    Hi Shayna,
Your pillows look wonderful and I love the built in bench in your eating area. In fact, I have loved everything I have seen on your blog. You have a nice style and are very talented.
Btw, do those pillows have blue stripes or gray stripes on them? I have seen the tea towels at IKEA and have thought they were blue, in your photos here they look gray. I will definitely go get some if they are gray!!

Thank you so much, Cindy! I’m so happy you enjoy the blog! 🙂 The pillows are blue, but not a very vibrant blue. I hope that helps! 🙂
