I love your curtains! Where did you get them?
Hi Lyzette! Thank you for your nice comment! Which curtains do you like?
The white curtains in the living room and master bedroom are from IKEA- http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00120979/?query=merete#/40111987. I talked about them here: http://brightlyinspired.com/2012/10/25/living-room-curtains/ and here: http://brightlyinspired.com/2012/09/26/master-bedroom-curtains/.
I made the curtains in the breakfast nook. You can find out about them here: http://brightlyinspired.com/2012/09/10/breakfast-nook-curtains/.
I hope that helps! 🙂

This is just the style I love, and like you , am always changing things around . I have been in my home for thirty five years and still love upcycling things I have to make them look different. Love your home! I got a lot of ideas for our new renovation. Where did you get the bedroom double curtain rods?
Hi Anne! Thank you so much for the super sweet comment! I found our bedroom curtain rods from Ikea. They are such a great buy for the price…
However, they aren’t a double rod. The picture makes them look like it, but the woven blinds are hanging on their own.
I hope that helps!
-Shayna
Yes, thanks for your quick response!
Such a beautiful home — and gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing!
🙂 Linda
THANK YOU so very much for the super sweet comment, Linda! 🙂

I can’t tell you how I found you, but I did. I love your home and laundry room. We are currently in the middle of a total gut of our farm house. I have a small area like your laundry room. I was wondering if you could email me more photos of your laundry to give me more ideas. So far, I like yours the best. I have a 9×6 area to design and get everything shoved into, and only about another week to get it figured out. Looking forward to some additional photos if you could please. Thanks, Mandy
Hi Mandy! I’m so happy you found me! Welcome to the WGC! How exciting that you’re in the middle of a farm house gut! FUN! 🙂

THANK YOU so much! Our ceiling color is super white, in flat, by Benjamin Moore.
I hope that helps! 😀
Thanks so much. I love it all!
I’m in LOVE with everything you’ve done to your home. It’s absolutely gorgeous, and just my style. You may already have this on your blog, but what kind/color flooring is the hardwood? We’re currently looking for new flooring, and I like yours a lot.
THANK YOU so very much, Lacy! I’m so happy you enjoyed the tour! Our hardwood flooring is a 3″ Hickory in a walnut finish. We bought them from Home Depot on sale! I couldn’t find a link to them exactly, but these from Lumber Liquidators are pretty close from what I can tell: http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/c/Walnut-Hickory-Casa-de-Colour-PRWH2/10006694
I hope that helps! 😀
-Shayna
Thank you! We ended up going with Montgomery Apple by Pergo from Lowe’s. It’s not quite the same, but I ended up loving it : )
Hi there! I adore your kitchen table set, can I ask where you found it?!
THANK YOU so much, Lindsey! I’ve had the kitchen table set in our breakfast nook for forever… I bought it at a local store and can’t remember the make/ model of it.
Sorry that isn’t more helpful…
-Shayna
Love your kitchen! Especially the black cabinets, is it a glazed finish or a painted finish, and where did you purchase them?
THANK YOU so much, Camille! Our cabinets are made by Custom Cabinets. We bought them from a local dealer. The color is called Carrington and our cabinets are made of Alder wood. The color isn’t quite black, but it is really dark.
I hope that helps! 😀

Beautiful. May I ask where you got the rack that holds the mason jars with the handles? Thank you!
THANK YOU so very much, Colleen! I found the bottle drying rack at Cost Plus World Market… it’s very reasonable too! 😀
-Shayna
Hello,
Your home is beautiful. Can you please tell me where you bought the horizontal white paneling and what the material is called?
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing you photos and the camera info as i have been contemplating buying a camera to take pics of my handmade crafts i sell! Your pics are awesome! Cant wait to start checking around for good pricing!
I was just wondering where you got the holder for the mason jar glasses? Cute house by the way. What does the outside look like?
THANK YOU so much, Kathy! I found the drying rack at Cost Plus World Market. Reasonably priced too! We’re still working on our landscaping, but you see our exterior here: https://www.thewoodgraincottage.com/2014/01/07/project-goals-of-2013/
😀
I love the look of your whole house. The white bathroom vanity is just what I am looking for. Where did you get it? Thank-you
THANK YOU so very much! I’m so happy you enjoyed the tour! I found our powder bathroom vanity at Home Depot on sale. It was originally really dark brown, but I painted it white to lighten up the room. I’m not sure if they carry the exact same one anymore, but I’ve seen similar styles.
You can read more about our vanity here: https://www.thewoodgraincottage.com/2013/10/07/powder-bathroom-vanity-makeover/
I hope that helps! 😀
Your home is just lovely! I enjoyed the tour. Looking forward to reading along as you continue making your house your home. 🙂
THANK YOU so much, Cecilia! I’m so happy you enjoyed the tour! 😀
Hi, found you through KOD and really love all you’ve done with your house. So charming and so many interesting things to look at yet without a “cluttered” look. You obviously love neutrals and texture and it all looks just great. I will be returning to track what you are up to next.
THANK YOU so very much, Judy! I’m so happy you found me! Welcome to The WGC! 😀
I love your home! 🙂 Random question, the front entrance, you have a bookcase/shelf there. First, where did you get that? It’s super cute! And second, what is the paint color used on the wall behind it?
Thanks!
THANK YOU so much, Sarah! I bought the shelving unit at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. The paint color in our living right is Super White by Benjamin Moore, but you could be asking for the tan-ish color. That’s Edgecomb Gray, also by Benjamin Moore! 😀
just took your home tour and ugh, I love it!!!! love the soft whites…I see someone else asked what colors you used in the entryway….I love them!!! I wonder, in the Christmas tour, you had cranberries in a dish with a candle….and throughout the house…do they spoil sitting out? how long do they last? thank you for so much inspiration!!!
Linda
Love everything about your home!
Deb @ Seekinglavenderlane.blogspot.com
You have impeccable taste – congratulations on a beautiful home.
I particularly love your dining room chairs – where did you get them??
Cheers,
Katie
Toronto, Canada
THANK YOU so very much, Katie! I found the chairs at TJMax. 😀
Beautiful home! Very inspiring 🙂
Hi there,
Your house is gorgeous! You’ve done a beautiful job – It’s warm, inviting, cozy and elegant!
Susan
Hi. I love your home! Like you I am in the process of going from colored walls to more light neutrals with pops of color… (I guess I am just growing up), but I was thinking of doing my living room in the Tranquility color. Can you tell me what it leans more toward (blueish, greenish, or grayish) and what it would resemble more in a room with very little natural light? I hope that made sense. ONce again, love your home!
THANK YOU so much, Sarah! Tranquility is a beautiful color, even if I am getting ready to paint over it! 😉
In our dining room lighting, it tends to lean more towards gray, which is lovely. Early morning it is a brighter blue and I haven’t found it to be very green. It really is a lovely color! I’d suggest painting a small sample in your living room since it does change with the light.
I hope that helps! 😀
Just came across your blog…so glad to have found it! I love your style and your home…GORGEOUS!!!
Love your house! I was wondering where you got
Your kitchen island from. Our kitchen layout is similar
And I think one like yours would be perfect. Thanks so much!
Hi Jennifer! THANK YOU so much! I found our kitchen island at Home Depot. You can read more about it here: https://www.thewoodgraincottage.com/2014/01/21/our-kitchen-island/
I hope that helps! 😀
Lovely! Where did you purchase the small kitchen island; or did you make this? It’s perfect!
You are very talented gal! Love all the wonderful things you have done
please tell me where you floors are from, wood and the laundry room! Love it all!
Love you laundry room!! My husband is making me washer and dryer pedestals as I type so I was wondering if you could enlighten me on the wooden pull out drawers(?) underneath your units. I want to hide my laundry baskets under the pedestal but would like to have them hidden. Was hoping that this would be my solution. Love your ideas!
THANK YOU so much, Erin! Here is more information on our wood laundry crates: https://www.thewoodgraincottage.com/2013/07/12/diy-laundry-room-crates/
I hope that helps! 😀
Your house is gorgeous! I love all your posts! You definitely have a great presentation with your page!!!!
I agree witht a commenter above. This is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen. Love everything about your home. You have excellent taste. Where did you get your dining tables and breakfast nook?
Letty
THANK YOU so very much, Letty! I bought the dining table in our breakfast nook several years ago at a furniture store in Denver, CO. I don’t remember the specific name of the company. Sorry!
Love your home…love all your lights……do you remember where you got them?? Like…..all of them….Sorry…..
I’m in love with your home!
Thank you for sharing. I’ve taken some great ideas from your home. Can you tell me where you got the black wall clock with the gold numbers? I’ve been looking for something similar for a while. Thanks in advance! Merry Christmas!
Such a beautiful home! You have done an incredible job. 🙂
LOVE your home! Do you mind if I ask where you got your white dishes that are on display in your kitchen? I have been looking all over for something similar. Thanks!
Thank you so very much! I actually found my white dishes at the thrift store. I love them! They are made by Pfaltzgraff and I’ve seen matching pieces on E-bay. I hope that helps! 🙂
Hi, just love Your house. Are the plank walls in Your bathroom made of wood are MDF? According to my constructor plank walls are not moist resistant. What are Your experiences with it?
Thanks and Lots of greetings from Belgium!
Martine
Thank you so very much! Our plank walls are made of 1/4″ flooring underlayment, which is wood. We’ve used them in our powder bathroom, and love them, but it doesn’t have a high amount of moisture. With that said, I wouldn’t hesitate to install them in our master bathroom. I hope that helps! 😀
Your decorating style is perfect! What a gorgeous home. Would you mind sharing information about your kitchen counter top? It is exactly what I am looking for. Thanks!
Thank you so very much! I’m sorry, but I’m not sure the name or make of our countertops. I’m sorry that’s not more helpful… 🙁
So happy I found ur blog. Beautiful home!
Alison
Your home is so beautiful, could you tell me how high the pedestal is that you have your washer and dryer on?
Thank you. I was going to stack my new washer and dryer, but I don’t think it would be too convenient.
Thank you so very much, Pam! Our pedestal is 22 1/2″ tall. Perfect height for me! I hope that helps! 🙂
Came across your blog while searching planked walls. LOVE your aesthetic! One thing that threw me, and forgive my curiosity, but you mention you built your home. Did you just do a generic, builder’s grade home to keep costs low and then add your personal touches? In the process of starting our build, and I’m wondering if all my custom ideas are gonna blow the budget……
Thank you so much, Abby! We did build our home. I wouldn’t call it a generic, builder grade house because we did pick and customize our floorplan, plus add in a bunch of higher end touches. However, our budget didn’t really allow a bunch of custom ideas, so that’s what we’ve been busy adding over these last few years. It’s been really fun! 🙂
I absolutley love your home thank you so much for sharing! If your ever in Nova Scotia feel free to stop by and decorate my home!! You have captured my tastes to a tee!! Anyways, where did you get the jars on your dining room table? I love different shaped jars and I started to look through your comments to see if anyone else had asked but that is a lot of comments!!! So I just decided to ask myself!!!
Thank you so very much! I’m so happy you are enjoying our blog and home! The jars on our dining room table are from Kirklands. I hope that helps! 🙂
Hi Shayna, I love your blog, your home and your decorating style! I must ask you where you got your jars on your dining room table? They are beautiful!
Thank you so much! They are from Kirklands. Hope that helps! 🙂
I love this blog! You guys did such a beautiful job with all of your projects and home decor. I am curious where you purchased your kitchen table from so it was high enough for peoples legs to not feel squished on the bench. It is a beautiful table. I also love many other things in your house, including the shelves in the dining room. Congratulations! 🙂
Thank you so much, Sean! I’m sorry, but I don’t remember where we purchased our breakfast nook table. We’ve had it for around 10 years. It is high enough for the table, and our legs do not get squished. I don’t want that either! 😀
I LOVE your home and decorating style! Just ran across your tour on Pinterest and will definitely be subscribing! I scrolled through all of the above comments to see if anyone had asked where you purchased the round wooden mirror and was surprised that no one had yet. Could you please tell me where you purchased it? Thank you!
Thank you so much Stephanie! So happy you found me! Welcome! I bought the mirror at Word Market. Love it! 😀
what brick or stone is that you have on your front porch?
I’m so sorry, but I don’t remember the name and I can’t seem to find any invoices. Sorry that’s not more helpful! 🙁
Would you be able to tell me where you purchased the towel rack at the end of the kitchen island?
Hi Pam! The towel rack came with the kitchen island, which we bought at Home Depot. I’m not sure where to find the towel rack. Sorry that’s not more helpful.
Oh my goodness, your home is so beautiful! My husband and I just purchased a fixer-upper and have JUST started the process. Your home gives me so much inspiration! 🙂
-Megan

Your home is my dream home! Just gorgeous. And I’m getting so much inspiration! Thanks for sharing.
What is the stain color of your cabinets??
Just saw the answer after reading through the comments: “The color is called Carrington and our cabinets are made of Alder wood.” I just LOVE them!!!!
I think I would get the Vintage Wooden Bucket by Antique Revival. It is so cool!
Digicats {at} Sbcglobal {dot} Net
Love it all! I was noticing your rugs, entry, back sliding door, kitchen walkway. Where did you get them?
Your home is absolutely stunning. I have followed your Instagram and Pinterest for years now and you have inspired my decorating style. I love that your home feels warm, lived in and inviting to family and friends. It shows character and it also shows that you have ways to decorate on a budget or if you want something that will fit in perfectly you add it. My kind of decorator. I love DIY projects and when I just have to have a piece I get it or find a way to get something close. Thank you for a beautiful blog. I can’t wait to see what the winter has in store. Patiently waiting for new notifications 🙂 Happy Holidays!
Your house is beautiful. I love the fact that use a lot of white but that you also keep the natural wood on your furniture. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Love your home! The way you decorate is so nice. Not to much, just enough beautifully older things. Awesome job !!
Shayna,
Your home is gorgeous! Heard about your blog from my mother in law, Gigi. We just bought a little fixer up house and started a blog too! Thanks for all the inspiration!
