Pumpkin Fall Front Porch

October 23, 2017

I think one of my favorite things about fall, is decorating the front porch. Not only does it make a lovely welcoming reception for guests, but it also gets to stay in place for a while! Plus, who doesn’t love pumpkins?

My fall front porch this year was entirely inspired by my pumpkin patch. Early this spring I decided to set aside room in my garden to grow my own pumpkins. I wanted to have plenty to decorate with for fall, but I also didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars purchasing them either. Those little seeds turned into something special and I loved seeing the pumpkins grow, and grow, and grow some more! Before I knew it, I had pumpkins everywhere! I’m not complaining though…

I grew a nice variety, but I really wanted to focus on the orange and white pumpkins. I love how they look so perfectly festive combined together…

All the porch needed after the pumpkins, was corn stalks. I chopped a few down from our corn field and tucked them behind the pumpkins…

I love how they tied in with the wreath, and how the fading greens from the corn stalks coordinated with the color of our door…

Our aspen trees are also dropping their leaves, and they naturally blow onto the porch… so I left them there…

I also had a really large lantern left over from our last traveling show, so I popped it in with the corn stalks…

It adds a fun feature to the grouping of pumpkins…

But honestly, the star of the show is the pumpkins, and I would have it any other way…

So there you have it! I love that all of this gets to stay past Thanksgiving and right into Christmas. It’s a happy welcoming that I love seeing!

That is awesome that you grew all of those pumpkins! I wish we had the space to do that here.

How do you keep squirrels away from your pumpkins? Your porch is lovely and so is your blog 🙂

Thank you! Oddly enough, I don’t have any issues with squirrels. I think I’m lucky! 🙂
