I want pancakes now! These look delicious, and so easy to make, they’re the perfect recipe for me! I’m a really good cook, but can’t bake to save my life, and so anything that includes flour makes my palms sweat :/
I’ll try these this weekend, since they’re predicting a foot and a half of snow, and get back to you on it! Wish me luck Shayna!!

  2. Laurie says:

    Shayna,

Thanks for sharing. I’m going to make them tomorrow morning. I wrote the recipe on a post it and it’s going right inside my pantry door with my quick beer bread recipe and pizza dough recipes.

Pancakes are a wonderful memory for me as well with my Grandma. Before school, my brother and I would ride our bikes or hoof it across the crick to a made-with-love breakfast waiting for us ready and hot. Along with other delicious breakfast items, pancakes were always a huge hit. Gonna give these cakes a try, they look out-of-this-world.

    • Shayna says:

Oh, Jill! Your memories are wonderful! I love how food can take you back… My childhood wouldn’t be the same without these! 😀
      Enjoy!

  6. Thank goodness I have just eaten breakfast! These look amazing. I made a hot breakfast for my children every morning and we would sit down as a family and eat. Wonderful memories! I wish I had this recipe back then!

Okay, I love this recipe! I made these two days in a row this week! We are currently overseas in South Korea and were craving some familiar food. Thanks for posting such a simple, yet delicious pancake recipe! I too am in the beginning stages of starting my own blog (http://www.wayfaringhearth.com/). Thanks again!

Wow these look great! When you say flour, is that plain flour? Cheers can’t wait to try them

  11. kindal says:

i just made these this morning for my family! my dad would always make us pancakes growing up so i often crave them now days especially on the weekends… I would say I make 4-5 hot breakfasts for my family per week… we can’t eat lavishly every morning cmon now! but they were delicious and fluffy and I will def be making these again! I would like to try substituting the flour for almond flour next time for a healthy take and maybe sugar for stevia and butter for coconut oil 🙂 thanks for the classic though some mornings you just need a good comforting all american pancake!

  12. […] Basic Fluffy Pancakes – There are so many ways you can customize pancakes, but it’s best to start with a basic recipe and perfect your technique because it’s amazing how hard it can be to figure out the exact right skillet, stovetop temperature, flipping time, etc. […]

  13. Made some modifications to fit my dietary restrictions and they turned out super fluffy and tasty!!! I linked to your original recipe page on my blog, Life. Love. Low-FODMAP. 🙂

Honestly, I’m not the sort to leave online comments. I’m a gourmet cook who works in the food world (I tell you this to demonstrate that my opinion is an informed one). Pancakes were never a part of my repertoire, but I wanted to make a special Sunday breakfast for my 81 yr old mom this morning before church. Wow. Delish. And by the way, quick and easy. If you’re reading this because you’re surfing the net looking for a perfect pancake recipe – stop here. Thanks for sharing your mom with us, Miss Shayna.

  15. Ren says:

Going to try these now. Looks great. Anyone have a grandma recipe for biscuits?

    • Ren says:

It’s a keeper. Going to post a note like someone said they were going to do. Don’t know why I haven’t seen these until today. Yum yum.

  16. Judi says:

This is my go-to pancake recipe. No buttermilk makes it easy to whip together anytime, and they freeze well!

  17. Claudia says:

    Hi Shayna,
the pancakes recipe seems to be gone! I´m so sad, that was the best pancake recipe ever!
