Remember a while back when I told you how excited I was to be participating in the Delta Faucet #HappiMess campaign? Well, today I’m back to share the party I hosted for my family.
Not only am I excited to be participating in a campaign that actually encourages us to truly live in our homes (& make messes), but I get to be apart of something that finds beauty in the everyday mess. It’s a part of life, so why hide it? We’re not always picture perfect pristine, and I know that the pretty pictures bloggers share can sometimes be discouraging. No, we don’t always look so put together…
So, not only did I invite my mom over to help me make a big mess in the kitchen for our family dinner, we got to eat a bunch of homemade goodies while hanging out together as a family. We enjoyed it… and the food! 😀
For the party, my mom and I decided to make my grandma’s homemade donut recipe. Oh my word. And before we knew it, we decided to make caramel apples and a carrot cake. It was a fun afternoon of baking and laughing and sharing recipes that are really special to the both of us.
Here we are in the midst of making our own #HappiMess! 😀
Anthony was our photographer… he did a pretty good job snapping pictures of it all… 😀
And I must say, I’m really enjoying our Touch2O faucet… I may or may not tap it just to turn it on and off! It really is handy for the messy jobs in the kitchen when hands are a bit coated…
And best of all, the donuts turned out amazing! My family is officially addicted & the guys mentioned something about me delivering them hot glazed donuts when they’re busy harvesting onions in a few weeks. 😀
My nephews also thought it was the best family dinner ever… one of them kept walking by the island “to play”or pilfer donuts… He got caught… several times! 😀
This was also the first party where we all got to sit around in the dining room with the new shelves and just enjoy each other….
Family dinners really are one of my very favorite things. And with the guys so busy harvesting the pinto beans, onions and corn (coming soon), we all enjoy the slower moments of family talk and laughing. Truly one of the best pleasures in life!
And once the party was over, and we all had enjoyed dinner, donuts and cake, we cleaned up the kitchen and I sent my family on their happy way with a bag of donuts. 😀
And lucky for us, there’s a few donuts left! Happy Day! 😀
