Bringing Summer Inside

July 14, 2017

One of my favorite elements of summer, is all the gorgeous blooms and green foliage. Even the weeds look amazing this time of year, so lush and vibrant. I recently took a walk around our property and was surrounded by so much beauty! Even though it was a little dark and gloomy, and the clouds were threatening rain, I couldn’t help but walk back to the house to grab my scissors to snip a few of the lovely blooms I found.

I’m all about bringing summer inside, and be them weeds or not, these free, light and happy blooms were too perfect not to bring in and create a pretty bouquet…

The breakfast nook was the perfect place to display them…

It’s a bit hard to see, but they have the most beautiful white flowers on the end of each stem…

And to think they’re really only weeds along the ditch bank…

Could’ve fooled me! They’re just stunning, and I love the fresh punch of color, and the wispy flair they add to the breakfast nook…

They make me happy and the house feels refreshed!

So… all that to say, go outside and clip some of the beautiful summer blooms… be it from your yard, the ditch bank, or the side of the road! They’re well worth it!

Everything looks beautiful. These are what are now sold as “native plants”. They are most beautiful on display indoors too!! It was President wife Ladybird Johnson who promoted “Save the wildflowers”. Texas was the first state to begin this conservation effort because she realized that the edges of roads no longer brought pretty flowers like bluebells!! You are following in the footsteps of a former First Lady!!
Each post shows such style!! I also bring in some clipping from outside to display in a vase. Hmm ? I wonder if cut plants still release OXygen into the air???
