The small town Colorado girl who’s obsessed with home and everything that entails! I’m a creative, a decorator, a day dreamer, a huge fan of scones, and I’m passionate about loving where I live and making a home.
Bring a bit of character to your home with an antique clock. Given to me by a friend, I was on a search to find the perfect place to put it. Now, it’s happy in the kitchen, and I’m happy to look at it every day. Here’s the story of our antique kitchen clock…
Now that my friends, family, and acquaintances know that I have a blog (it took me forever to share this with them…), I have so many people on the lookout for me. Sometimes the items aren’t so great, and other times they are amazing. Either way, I’m so humbled to have friends and family searching my town and surrounding areas, all while keeping me in mind any time they see something that could possible be “just the thing”. They warm my heart. <3
This antique clock is one of those finds. A great friend of mine loves to look through storage units, often times bringing home the majority of what he finds. When he gets it all home, he calls me to come over for a visit. I never know what I’ll find, but I always find something, big or small! While I don’t have the clock working yet (it takes some HUGE batteries), I couldn’t wait to get it cleaned up, and on display.
Not only did I love the little sticker on the back sharing a bit of its history, I loved the farmhouse style. The brass frame has a perfect patina, and all of the clock numbers are crisp. This one, will be making it’s way all throughout the house. 😀
If anyone knows more about it, I would love to hear the history. The back of the clock says: C.E. WILCOX JEWELER, YELLOWSTONE PARK PICTURES, Gardiner Montana. It’s addressed to BASIN HOTEL ENGIN. ROOM on a postmaster sticker. My Google searches aren’t providing much information. 😀
This clock is the perfect item for our kitchen shelving space, and it fits into our home just like a glove. I can’t wait to learn more about it, and move it around the house as the seasons, and my decor changes. Welcome to the house Mr. Clock, I think you’re going to love it! 😀
I’m so thankful to have such wonderful people surrounding me. Thank you all!
