Oh man, today’s post is a fun one! If you’ve ever wondered what Anthony thinks about the blog, this one is for you! 🙂
A while back I thought it would be really fun to ask Anthony about his thoughts on this whole blogging thing. Some of them are maybe even questions you would like to ask him, if given the opportunity. And because we live on a real farm, I thought it would be awesome to include my fellow farm blogging friend, Liz from Love Grows Wild. You probably know exactly who she is, because she totally rocks at blogging, but if you don’t, you are absolutely missing out on her amazing blog.
We have so much in common, and I cherish her friendship, so what better way to get a farm wife/ blogger’s perspective than by joining forces? And that’s exactly what we’re doing… joining forces to bring you the “Blogging From My Better Half: His Perspective” series, complete with a focus on our farm life. That’s right, our husbands are answering all the questions today….
Keep reading for a really fun surprise at the bottom of the post… I think (hope) you’ll love what we’ve come up with! It’s a little bit different, a little bit quirky and a whole lot of fun!
Here we go… These answers are all directly from Anthony.
What’s your favorite project (house or DIY) that’s been completed “because of the blog”?
I really like the railroad spike wall hook rack we made and sell at most of our traveling shows.
What role do you play on the blog, and in the blogging business?
I’m the grunt and I make Shayna’s building dreams happen in a realistic world. She always has these big ideas, and I bring them back to reality of what can actually be done.
If you could change one thing in your house, what would it be?
This is an easy one, I’d hang my elk shoulder mount back up in the living room. She said it was too big for the room, but I think it was perfect.
What’s your favorite part of living on a real, working farm?
I love watching the crops grow, and knowing we’re feeding families across America.
How do you describe Shayna’s job to others (when they ask)?
It’s hard to explain what a blog is, so I send them to the website.
What’s the most rewarding thing that’s come from the blog/ business?
Shayna’s happiness and seeing how much she impacts other people’s lives for the good.
What’s one thing about Shayna that would surprise people?
She’s an excellent cook and can bake gluten free like a champ. She makes good waffles out of plantains. She’s good at multi-tasking.
Has there ever been a project you’ve worked on with Shayna that caused some friction or brought you closer together?
Friction would definitely be the laundry room washer and dryer surround. It was out of square and a pain to work on, but we always come together when we finish a project and look back on what we’ve accomplished. We make a great team.
What does your typical day on the farm look like?
There are no typical days. Everyday is different and the plan can change from hour to hour, and season to season. Right now, we are busy doing tractor work for the coming planting season.
And for the final question of today, leading into Friday’s post…
What would you say your style is, and how does it differ from Shayna’s style?
My style is rustic, and I like stained wood. Shayna likes to paint everything when it should be stained, or stay natural.
Oh man, I loved reading Anthony’s answers. He’s a man of few words, but they’re always worth listening to. His support makes this blog possible.
Head on over to Liz’s blog to see what her hubby had to say about the blogging business and farm.
And now, for the fun addition to our Q & A, Liz and I decided it would be sooo much fun to create a little husband vs wife styling competition. On Friday, we’ll be putting them to the ultimate “blogging” test. They’ll each be styling a dresser/ flat surface. We. Can’t. Wait.!
This post, and the one on Friday, shows their true devotion to us… Thanks for playing along guys! 🙂
Stay tuned for Friday, it’s sure to be a blast and one you won’t want to miss!
