The View From Our Home

First, I want to thank you all for the amazing comments about my goals for 2016. Your support is such a wonderful, powerful, and beautiful thing. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Today, I wanted to share the view from our home. The other night, I walked out of my office from a long day of work, and froze at the view from our breakfast nook window. The sun was setting, the cows were grazing, and in that moment, an incredible peace washed over me. And then I grabbed my camera to capture it. 🙂

I am constantly amazed at how incredibly beautiful our surroundings are. In the summer, I love to take long walks just soaking in the beauty of it all. Some love the scenes of a beach, others, the city, and while they are all wonderful, for me, it’s the farmland.

On this evening, the colors of the sunset were utterly amazing… much better than I could capture with my camera.

I always enjoy the winter, specifically because the cows are down from the mountain to graze, and calve. Right now, there are several babies running around, and I love to watch them run around, bucking and jumping as they go…

Standing on the back porch, I am always amazed at my many, many blessings. Not just for the view, but for our home, water, shelter, food, family, friends, love. My list could go on and on, always finding something new to be grateful for. But, on this night, it was the view, and the incredible peace that I felt…

When I came inside, all the worries of my day were gone… I felt peaceful, relaxed and ready to make dinner…

Blessings surround us every day. Sometimes we only get a glimmer, others, a glance, and sometimes we are lucky enough to have our hearts filled in the moment.

My heart was full in this moment. My cup runs over.

  1. I am a country girl at heart as well…nothing better than wide open spaces and big skies. We don’t have cattle at this quarter of land, we did have on our other farm. One of my favorite things was to watch the baby calves playing on a nice spring day! I could see them from my kitchen window…..wishing you a happy week end!! From one country girl to another!!

  2. What an amazing view. It is breathtaking. I have always lived views of mountains. Living in the Midwest, (Illinois and Wisconsin) we don’t have those majestic mountains. I, too, love winter scenery. For me it is such a peaceful scene.
Thank you for your beautiful view with us ?

  3. How pretty!! I got to leave my home to ride along with a friend. I live in a rich fertile valley and to see rows of I’m assuming carrots all in tiny neat rows!! And no smog so purple mountain make sties I saw all around a new freeway on ramp!! The sky!! Then we begin a mountain climb and the hills are alive with spring grass!!! I even on our quick outing stopped at an outlet and used a one year old gift card. But to be able to see oil wells pumpkin and dry canals and farmland in use and then see your trees why they have grown!!!! I’m alive!! Alleluia. He’s alive!! He’s alive!! He is worthy to be praised from sea to shining sea ( of waves of grain?!!). And oh so neat trimmed grape vineyards and trees of nuts not quite in bloom. Yes. We both had that blessing. Today? I’m still in pjs though? Aren’t the cattle so majestic and their calves so sweet as well?

  4. This is a gorgeous picture! I love when the sky turns that cotton candy pink! I also want to say I read your post about your goals and I think you really have great ideas. I aim for balance most of all but it can really be a challenge. Trying to have goals when we are supposed to be doing something ‘fun’ can be a little confusing but it can be managed. Find a good fit and make 2016 a year of accomplishments! :
