I'm Shayna
It’s time for another “behind the scenes”. There is so much going on right now, but I’m sure the thing you’re most curious about, is our online shop.
Me too, my friend, me too!
I had originally planned on having the shop open by May 1st. Just in case you want to check your calendar, I’ll do it for you. That was SIX (6) days ago. We definitely didn’t make it. And partially because, I completed under estimated everything I had to do. Yowzer.
I was hopeful we would make my deadline, but… having never done this before, and having about a mile long to do list of things that must be done, not just could be done, we’re now extending the deadline.
As you may have noticed if you follow us on Instagram, this past weekend Anthony and I were building the items for our product organizing and shipping counters. We still need to finish the desk area, rolling organizers and a few other things.
Soon, friends, soon. But don’t be surprised if it’s a June 1st opening date. If something drastically changes, I’ll be sure to share. With that said, my calendar says for June 1st: ONLINE SHOP OPENS in big, bold, capitalized letters. That should help! 🙂
Here’s a peek of our shipping counters, I’ll be sharing the tutorial first thing next week, and I can not wait to show you how we plan on organizing all of our merchandise…
That counter is a beast! 🙂
And can we just touch on the product photo’s? Those babies take time. Here’s a peek at some of the things I’ve worked on the last few weeks…
Now, for the other things that aren’t shop related…
Call me totally crazy, but I bought a 1970’s wood furniture set and I’m turning it into our new patio set. I know, right? Just take a peek at this little dandy…
I can’t wait to share the specifics of it in another post, but basically I have a serious deadline in place. We have a family party planned for May 23rd, and this set needs to be completely made over before then. Heaven help me, but it’s going to get new paint, reupholstered cushions, and a few bodily changes. Right now, it’s hiding in our garage. I’m planning to work on it over the next few weeks, as just painting it will be a tedious/ big job. There’s so much of it… 5 huge pieces! But tell me, who can pass it up for $60? Not, I guys. Not I.
And I feel like I must acknowledge the organizing mess that has become my life. Can I just tell you how much I dislike being unorganized? I knew I needed to seriously get myself on track, but then I went to Snap, a blogging conference, and my thoughts were echoed and reinforced about 1,000 times, if not more. I’ve always been an organized person, but these past few months have been in complete disarray. Let’s not ask for certain items or papers, ok? I might have an idea where to find them. Hopefully having the shop finished and organized will completely change my life. Hopefully. In the meantime, I’ve made about 15 different spreadsheets to help. And I’m using them, so there’s that! 😉
I’m also working on another big project that I’m hoping will hit the blog in August. Parts of it are finished, but others are still in the works. It’s exciting and I hope you guys will love it as much as I have loved working on it! I don’t want to share too much about it yet, the shop needs to be my main priority, but this is something you all have been asking, and asking and asking for!
As always, I can’t even begin to thank you enough. You have been my motivation, and the reason I continue to push myself on so many levels. You are the best and so greatly appreciated!

I cannot wait for the online store (but I will, of course 😉 )! So excited for you. I know you had a full time job when you first started blogging. Will the store be your full time business?
honey you have spread yourself so thin you can’t weigh more than sixty pounds now lol xx
whoa! I just flashed back to 1993 when my mother and I found a great 3 piece funiture set for college. Oh MY WORD! It’s the same one. I spent all summer removing the stain, painting and sewing new fabric covers. Great pieces. What a find for you!
Super duper excited to shop your store when its up and running! We are building a house after 10 yrs of renting and I will need some things for it! 🙂 Your style is so pretty.
where can I get they pillow?
Hi Julia! The pillow will be available in our online shop. 🙂
Boy oh boy I’m like everyone else, can not wait for your online store to open!! How exciting for you and us!!
I want one of those pillows…how great tho art!!!!
Dear Shayna, you must be going in fifty different directions right now. I was going to say “you poor thing “, but i know you are loving every minute of it. All of us outsiders are pulling for you, ( not sure if it’s because we all want to shop your store so badly ( = ) Before you know it, time will have passed and you’ll be saying, “I wish i had another month to get ready !!! ” I have a secret to tell you, nobody knows exactly what you have planned so if something doesn’t get finished, who will know other than yourself and your hubby ? Nobody ! So don’t fret the small stuff and don’t lose the “fun” in what you’re doing. Otherwise it becomes just another job. Take a deep breath, smile and take your time, we’ll all wait, we’re not going anywhere. We’re just so excited for you. (and can’t wait to shop = ) Sincerely, Diena
I know things are running 90 miles a minute right now (I feel your pain…kinda doing the same thing…too many projects). You will hit your June deadline and it will fantastic!! I love the pillows. You know the photos of the furniture that you are going to makeover look so familiar. I believe my parents still have a similar set in their basement. Wow, does this bounce me back in time.
