Powder Bathroom Inspiration: Take 2

I’ve been known to switch up a plan from time to time. I’m a wanderer, a drifter of sorts.

I think that I’ll have the perfect plan for something, totally decide on doing it, implement a few things, then change my mind. I guess that means it wasn’t turning out as I had hoped….

Our powder bathroom has been stuck in a rut for a while now… You might remember my first inspiration post that I shared here. I still love everything about those rooms, but I’ve found a different inspiration in them then I previously shared. Funny how that works, huh?

But, the thing is… I have finally created the room in my head. From top to bottom. I can see the accessories, the colors, the wood tones and the lighting. And I’m excited.

Generally when I finally “see” the room, I know that I’m onto something great. It’s like I can’t get started fast enough because I’m afraid that I’ll forget things. This time though, I’m feeling pretty good about it. It feels like us.

And everything was sparked from this:

And what’s really funny, is that we don’t have anything remotely close to this in there right now. Actually, not even a single thing.

Like I said, I’m a wanderer. And I’ve changed my plan for this room.

I showed Anthony the other night and he gave me a blank stare…. He told me what I already knew. We don’t have a bathtub in there. Or wood floors. Or windows.

But, you know what? I don’t care. That really wasn’t what sparked my creativity in the first place, be them as pretty as they are.

Nope, the thing that first caught my attention was the feeling. And the wood tones.

I think by now you all know that we love wood grain. I may have mentioned it a few hundred times. So you better bet it’s going to have it’s share of those lovely wood tones.

If I were a better drawer, or possessed any skills to draw what so ever, I would totally show you what I see. But, be that as it may, if I showed you right now you would laugh. And I would laugh with you. I’m that bad.

BUT, I do look forward to showing you what we put together.

And, to keep true to form, you’ll not hear another thing about this for a good while. Because that’s how long it’s going to take me to beg, plead and cry to get my husband on board for a few projects. Luckily though, there are all sorts of things that I can do by myself.

My first project, is sanding down the existing vanity and re-staining it. It’ll be a little bit of work, but I think it will look great once it’s done!

I hope to share an update soon! In the meantime, be sure to check out my bathroom pinterest board. There’s some beautiful inspiration!

    1. Hi Carol! Isn’t that bathroom pretty? I love it! I wish I knew the wall color, but I haven’t been able to find the name anywhere! Sorry!
