Your black wicker chair turned out beautiful. I found a green one at a consignment store, and would love to paint it barn red. Which spray paint do you prefer for your wicker projects?
    Thank you!

    • Hi Julie! Thanks for the comment! I used Rust-oleum’s Ultra Cover spray paint. That tends to be my favorite. :)
      Happy spray painting!

    Hi Shayna,

I love your wicker chair project and am hoping to do something similar for my nursery – have you noticed that the paint has chipped off of the wicker or not held so well? I only ask to because of having a baby around paint – this will be my first diy for his room and want to be cautious. Thanks!

    • Hi Tiffany! I’m so glad you like my black wicker rocker. We’ve been using it in our bedroom for a while now, and it doesn’t show any signs of ware. The paint isn’t peeling or scratching off.
      I hope that helps!
Good luck on your nursery! :)

    Hey Shayna:

LOVE the bench in your kitchen! My husband and I are doing something similar, except with two as a corner nook. I’m a little puzzled about your lids. When he drilled the holes in the center, what did he put in it so that you could open the lid? It looks like it might be a ring recessed in the hole. We were thinking of an overhang so I could easily open the lid, but that has been problematic due to the two bench corners meeting. Thanks! And again, beautiful job!

    • HI Michelle! Thank you so much for your sweet comment! :)
For the bench lids, I use the hole that he drilled in each lid to open them. I just stick my finger through the hole and lift up. They open really easy and our cushion hides everything.
      I hope that helps!

  4. Hello! I Love, Love, Love your kitchen island! WOuld love to know where you got it. Your home is beautiful.

    • Hi Susan! THANK YOU so much! I bought our kitchen island at Home Depot. Someone had special ordered it and ended up not liking it. It was my lucky day! They have similar versions online!
      Hope that helps! :-D

  5. I enjoyed your home tour and found some great ideas for my oun home. I really like the shelf with the glassware displayed in your breakfast nook and I would like one like it. Did you purchase or make the shelf? Can you provide the details? I also like the pine cone centerpiece. I’m assuming you made that. I’m going to give it a try. Any tips you can offer for the pine cone centerpiece? Thank you so much for the ideas and inspiration . You have a beautiful home.

    • THANK YOU so much, Sue! I’m so happy you enjoyed the tour! I’ve had the shelf in our breakfast nook for a really long time. I just recently sanded down the wood and re-stained it. The pine cone centerpiece is actually an antique sugar mold that I picked up at an antique store. It would definitely be easy enough to make. Just pick a thick board and drill several 2″ holes on the top, stopping about 2″ into the wood. I’m hoping to do a tutorial on it soon!
      I hope that helps! :-D

I love your Linen Lined Rope Basket. I know that you made these but I am not crafty and in a wheel chair now. I cant get out to get all the supplies that one needs in order to make. I wonder if you would be interested in making me a couple for a craft/scrap booking room I am trying to get together. There are so many things I can use these baskets for. I check with Ballard magazine all the time but they have nothing like this. If you would correspond with me by email I dont use any of those fancy sites. If you agree to making me some, please send me the price and what I need to let you know as far as colors and how many.
If you cant do that do you know of anyone that could do it for me.
    THanks for your help.
