    Shayna,

I’m head over heels in love with these lamps. I will absolutely be searching thrift stores for bases. Question for you though. I’m not sure I understand why you did so many coats of different colors. Can you see them under that last coat? Do,you feel it necessary to give enough dimension? Maybe I just can’t see it in the photos. Thank you!

    • Shayna says:

Thank you so very much! Yes, I do think the different layers with the colors are necessary. Each time I added an additional layer of paint, the color would change slightly, but feel free to customize this with your lamps based on the color depth you are going for. Happy painting! 🙂

  9. Wow I am shocked by this transformation! Seriously, such a beautiful job. Great creativity!!

  10. Barb says:

Looks great! I am on the quest to make a lamp out of real concrete since I have quiet a few concrete projects under my belt. I’m actually quite shocked at how much it resembles concrete. Good thing to keep in mind!

AND I am a big proponent of ‘paint is your best friend’! You could probably just add a bunch of calcium carbonate to paint and have that matt chalky finish as well.
