Why I Love Bamboo Blinds

Home Decor, Product Picks

  1. This came at the perfect time! We bought our condo almost 3 years ago and I’ve been replacing the mini blinds that were here. I’ve really been contemplating bamboo blinds or wood shades for our bedroom. We have nothing behind us other than woods and our bedroom sits up higher because we have a walkout lower level under it. Thanks for sharing this info!

I also love bamboo blinds. I have slowly been added them to our house over the years. I have five windows to go three of which have the heavy woods blinds that we first installed after our home was built. Slowly I’m getting there. I love how they look against the white trim and I also love how easy they are to clean. I buy ours from Overstock. Good tip on the outside mount I’ll have to give that a try.

I love my bamboo blinds. I got liners and bought them at Just Blinds. One of the valences was a tad shorter and they sent me a replacement immediately. Thank you for suggesting the same shade/color in all rooms. I need to order one for my kitchen and now I will order the same as the living room.

Hi there, what a lovely site and home! I am in love with your matchstick blinds! I would love to buy some for my home and clicked on the link you’ve provided to Wayfair but am brought to the main blinds page with ALL the choices and have no clue what to search for! Would you kindly provide the brand name, or what you searched to find them when you were looking? Maybe they are not made anymore? Again, what you’ve done is stunning, and thank you in advance!

  10. Priscilla says:

Hi there! Love your blinds. I clicked the link to the ones you purchased, but it’s giving me 11k options on wayfair. What are the ones in your photo called. Thanks again!

  11. Becky says:

We moved into a house built in the late ’70s in which all the windows are covered in dusty mini blinds. When I started to research window treatments I found your website and knew I was home! My question for you is about the Wayfair links. They no longer are direct to the blinds you purchased or recommended. I have such good luck with Wayfair in the past that I would appreciate your recommendations with them. Thank you!

I was really excited to read this! I rent an apartment that has the ugliest old mini blinds and I’m looking for something affordable and neutral and these are going to be perfect! I found some on Overstock! Thanks for your post, you confirmed my choice!

I’m an awful decorator and it’s so hard for me to make decisions when it comes to decorating; but this post helped me make my decision with confidence on bamboo blinds. I’m so excited to order some! We bought our house about 15months ago and I still haven’t put blinds up. We live in the mountains with no neighbors so I think bamboo blinds will be perfect.

  14. I love the texture of bamboo blinds! Always wanted to get them for my living area. I thought they’re difficult to clean and that was the only reason I never bought them. I guess I’ll get them installed soon now.

  15. Karen Lynch says:

Hi! I, too, would love to know the exact bamboo shades you have, Shayna! I didn’t see an answer on the thread, though. Thanks, in advance!

RecPro has a great fit, great color, and easy to install. These block most of the “booger” lights around the camper at night but are not “blackout” shades. For the price, they are just beautiful. Well worth the investment. I just hope they had a larger size assortment to pick from, I would replace all of my shades.

    • We bought Lippert for our 2020 Grand Design 397TH that stated on the front door “Thin Shade Ready”. The installation took less than 2-3 minutes and required no tools. It is a flimsy piece of plastic with a pull-down shade. However, it is needed not only to block the sun from coming in but most importantly….privacy as the door window is not frosted nor comes with any type of covering. I love it that just behind the Rec pro window.
