I love what you e done ❤️ Can’t wait to see it finished. I used some planking in my new build, along with some shiplap. Hubby doesn’t know it yet but I need more too! Did you use an eggshell finish to you onyx and white paints? Thanks

    • Shayna says:

Hi Dianne! Thank you so much! 🙂 The sheen on the planks is a semi-gloss (it’s what I had on hand, and looks nice on planking), and the rest of the paint are done in eggshell. I hope that helps! 🙂

This looks fantastic! I’m wondering what sort of wood you used and where you found it. Also, can you tell me the difference between planking and shiplap? I’m doing our bath much the same as well as our kitchen ceiling. I was calling it shiplap.

Wow. I cannot believe how much you’ve done since revealing your health problems and yet you move forward. You’ve really gotten a sense of what you like and how nicely your home looks!!

Seems like plankin and shiplappin is all the rage ! I was glad to hear that you have done a few walls throughout your house….I have a list of walls that will be getting this treatment this year as well and with our open floor plan I think doing a wall here and there will make it all flow together as well. Our wall color is Grey Owl by BM…i was hoping that it will look okay with white shiplap. I really don’t want to paint all the walls white….hmmm. what do you think ? Love love the way the bathroom is turning out!

    • Shayna says:

Thank you so much, Dawna! Yes, I would also say planking or shiplap is very popular, and for good reason: it’s beautiful! 🙂
I do think your Gray Owl (love that color by the way!) will look wonderful with white shiplap. It will be lovely! I hope that helps! 🙂

Looks awesome, but I’m also wondering what kind of wood you used? Plywood or shiplap?

  6. Megan says:

Love this idea of putting it in the bathroom, you make it look so easy! Looks great 🙂

I’m going to be using planking or *shiplap look* in my dinette area to cover up my wallpaper! Exactly what we needed! Originally was going to beadboard, but love the shiplap look. I’m painting mine the same color as my existing walls. Who says *shiplap* can only be painted white! Hope mine looks as great as yours!

Hi! How did you manage the shiplap behind the toilet? Love this look! thank you!

    • Shayna says:

Hi there! We had enough space behind the toilet to slide the pieces of underlayment behind it. To paint as much of it as I could, I put saran wrap on the toilet tank and used my paint brush to reach as far behind it as I could. I hope that helps! 🙂
