2013 Christmas Home Tour
Welcome! It’s all about Christmas today!
This year I wanted to focus on the handmade side of things, so I spent a lot of time actually making many of the things in our home and in the pictures below. We like to really cherish our time together rather than rushing around to buy the latest and greatest and there’s so much more meaning to a home, and gift, when it’s been handmade…
I’m so happy to invite you into our home… Go grab your favorite drink, a yummy snack and sit back to enjoy the tour…

Our entryway…
I’ll be sharing several tutorials throughout the month, and this jingle bell strap is one of them….
I’ll also be sharing the tutorial for our living room walls…
And there’s no way I couldn’t JOY-fully display my DIY Rosette pillow…
I used as much fresh greenery as possible, and boy did it make a difference… I just love this huge wreath!
Our Christmas tree is one of my absolute favorites…
And it’s sprinkled with several handmade items too… like this antique jingle bell garland…
Simple packaging is another favorite of mine…
And little trees in metal buckets… well, don’t even get me started.

And my handmade Christmas Countdown from last year…
And you all remember my little numbered side table makeover… I love that thing!
Our dining room…
I moved our huge handmade sign above the buffet and I think it’s found its new home…
And of course my DIY metal banner… I love how the wicker star banner looks with it…
And this rosemary centerpiece smells fantastic… I’ll share more about that a bit later…

Your home is beautiful. Could you please tell us how you keep the Rosemary alive. I have killed 3 of them. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
THANK YOU so very much, Patty! For the Rosemary, I find that watering them EVERYDAY is almost key. They also don’t like the water to actually touch them and it’s best if no sort of air is blowing on them. I hope that helps! 😀

For the fabric, I used a thicker muslin. It’s such a fabulous fabric, and the texture is great. I bought the tacks at Ace Hardware.

What fun it is to see the holiday transformation of your home. The warm neutrals with a splash of greenery looks so festive! If you don’t mind my asking…what color stain is used on your kitchen cupboards? I really like the dark look with the warm tones of the wood showing! I want my upper cupboards a dark color, but I felt a black paint would be too harsh. Thanks so much!
