Mason Jar Soap Pump
I’ve had a major crush on mason jar soap pumps since I first saw them.
What a brilliant idea. I mean really, what’s not to love?
Even though you may have already seen 101 of them, I’m going to share my version too. So make that 102.
It makes me smile big.
Here’s how I made it:
I started with a regular mason jar… Luckily I have loads of them for canning.
Then, I emptied the soap out of my soap bottle, which I picked specifically for the clear soap pump. It doesn’t hurt that this soap smells amazing either.
Once the bottle was rinsed out, I used a grinder and cut the top of the bottle off. You could easily use a saw.
Then, I secured the lid in place and used our drill, with a metal drill bit, to drill a hole the size of the plastic bottle top.
With the hole cut out, I pushed the plastic bottle top through the bottom of the hole and used hot glue to secure it in place.
Then, I twisted the pump back on…
Once the hot glue was dry, I placed the pump in the jar and found that I needed to trim a little bit off the end of the pump so that it would fit in the jar. I used a pair of scissors and snipped off the extra length.
Then, I filled it with soap. It holds a lot, so I ended up mixing two different soaps together.
And now it simply shines.
I love the detail on the top…
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any cuter, I remembered those lovely numbered tags…
And, well, the rest is history.
They’re pretty much perfect together!
And it makes me smile even bigger now.
My only problem is deciding which room to use it in. Right now it’s in the powder bath, but I’m thinking I need one for the kitchen too…
Luckily they’re easy to make!

Got my mason jar ready to go! Picked up liquid soap- was in local Target this morning but they only had berry scent- where did you get your interesting sounding scent?
How exciting, Pam! You will love yours! I found my soap at Walmart, but ended up mixing two different types together. 🙂
The cherry blossom & almond is completely lovely on it’s own, but to fill the jar a little bit fuller I mixed in another pink antibacterial soap with the moisturizing beads. That’s why it looks so pretty. 🙂

I need to make some of these! Super cute and that tray you have the soap on is just precious. I need to find one of those trays as well! My son always uses the spare bathroom down stairs and since he is only 6, he can’t reach the handles to well and always gets a lot of water on the counter while trying to reach the soap pump. That tray would be perfect to help collect the extra water.
